| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Sangiran merupakan daerah tempat ditemukannya fosil fragmen manusia purba berupa tengkorak dan rahang bawah, buaya, stegodon, kuda nil. Formasi pembawa fragmen-fragmen tersebut adalah Formasi Kabuh. Penelitian secara rinci stratigrafi mengenai Formasi Kabuh perlu dilakukan untuk menginterpretasikan dinamika sedimentasi dan lingkungan pengendapan. Lokasi penelitian berada pada daerah Jagan, Desa Bukuran, Kecamatan Kalijambe, Kabupaten Sragen, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian dilakukan pada enam titik pengamatan. Titik pengamatan dimulai pada koordinat S 070 27' 59"- E 1100 51' 04" hingga S 07o27’58,4”- E 110o51’17,7”. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode pengukuran penampang stratigrafi dengan skala 1:20, analisis granulometri, analisis petrografi, komposisi butir, arus purba untuk menentukan fasies dan asosiasi fasies. Hasil pengukuran penampang stratigrafi didapatkan 14 litofasies yang terdiri dari batulempung hitam (Fsm), batulanau masif (Fm), batulanau convolut (Fl), Batupasir silangsiur halus-kasar palung (St1, St2), Batupasir halus-kerikil berstruktur silangsir planar (Sp, Sgp), batupasir halus ripple (Sr), Batupasir halus-sedang konglomeratan silangsiur palung (Sgt1, Sgt2), konglomerat masif (Gm), konglomerat berlapis (Gh), konglomerat silang siur (Gt), Breksi Lahar (Gms), dan tuff (P-fa). Mekanisme sedimentasi berupa arus suspensi, arus traksi, arus turbid, aliran debris, dan hasil endapan piroklastik jatuhan. Arah arus purba relatif menunjukan arah tenggara (SE) dan timur-timur laut (ENE). Batuan asal berupa batuan volkanik primer bersifat andesitik. | Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Sangiran is an area where ancient human fossil fragments in the form of skull and mandible, crocodile, stegodons, hippopotamus can be found. Formation that carry the fragments are Kabuh formation. Detailed research about the stratigraphy of Kabuh formation is needed to interpret the dynamics of sedimentation and depositional environment. The research location is in Jagan Area, Bukuran village, Kalijambe districk, Sragen regency, Central Java. The research was conducted at six observation point. Observation point start at coordinates S 070 27' 59"- E 1100 51' 04" up to S 07o27’58,4”- E 110o51’17,7”. The method that is used is measurement of stratigraphic cross-section method with a scale of 1:20, granulometri analysis, petrographic analysis, grain composition, paleo currents to determine facies and facies associations. The results of cross sections stratigraphy measurements obtained 14 lithofacies consist of black claystone (Fsm), massive siltstone (Fm), convolut siltstone (Fl), cross bedding fine-coarse trough sandstone (St1, St2), fine- Sandstone – pebble with planar cross-bedding structure (Sp, Sgp), fine ripple sandstone (Sr), fine Sandstone – moderate cross bedding trough conglomerate (Sgt1, Sgt2), massive conglomerate (Gm), plated conglomerate (Gh), cross bedding conglomerate (Gt), Lava Breccia (Gms), and tuff (P-fa). sedimentation mechanism consist of suspension current, traction current, turbid currents, debris flows and the result of fall-out pyroclastic deposits. The direction of paleocurrent relative indicates southeast (SE) and the east-northeast (ENE) direction. The origin rock is primary volcanic rock with andesitic characteristic. depositional environment of Kabuh formation is lacustrine deltas until braided river.
