| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Tanaman seledri (Apium graveolens) menggandung flavonoid dan terpenoid yang memiliki aktivitas antifungi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi Karbopol 940 sebagai gelling agents terhadap sifat fisik dan stabilitas fisik sediaan gel, mengetahui konsentrasi terpilih Karbopol 940 sebagai gelling agents, dan mengetahui apakah formula terpilih sediaan gel ekstrak etanolik herba seledri (A. graveolens) memiliki aktivitas antifungi terhadap Malassezia furfur (M. furfur). Formula sediaan gel dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi Karbopol 940 (0,5%, 1%, 01,5%, dan 2%). Gel dievaluasi sifat fisik dan stabilitas fisik yang meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, daya sebar, dan daya lekat selama 28 hari. Uji organoleptis, homogenitas, dan pH dianalisis secara deskriptif. Uji viskositas, daya sebar, dan daya lekat dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA satu arah selanjutnya dilakukan analisis signifikansi menggunakan uji LSD. Pengujian aktivitas antifungi dilakukan terhadap formula terpilih menggunakan metode sumuran. Hasil diperoleh dalam persentase daya hambat di bandingkan dengan kontrol negatif dan kontrol positif ketokonazol 2%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi karbopol 940 mempengaruhi sifat fisik dan stabilitas fisik sediaan gel yaitu meningkatkan viskositas dan daya lekat namun menurunkan daya sebar. Konsentrasi karbopol 940 yang memenuhi syarat sifat fisik dan stabilitas fisik yaitu konsentrasi 1% (Formula II). Formula tepilih (Formula II) menghasilkan presentase daya hambat sebesar 70,59% dengan zona hambat sebesar 25,83 mm. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Celery plant (Apiumgraveolens) contains flavonoids and terpenoids which have antifungal activity. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in concentration of Carbopol 940 as gelling agents in physical properties and physical stability ofgel forms, the concentration of selected Carbopol 940 as gelling agents, and to determine whether the chosen formula of ethanoliccelery herb (A. graveolens)extract gel has antifungal activity against Malassezia furfur (M. furfur). Gel formulations were made with various concentration of Carbopol 940 (0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2%). The gel was evaluated in physical properties and physical stability, which included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, adhesiveness, and adhesion for 28 days. Organoleptic, homogeneity, and pH test were analyzed descriptively. Viscosity test, adhesiveness, and adhesion were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, then performed using LSD test. Antifungal activity was done for the selected formula using well-diffusion method. The results obtained in the percentage of inhibition compared to the negative control and positive control ketoconazole 2%. The results showed that the increased concentration of carbopol 940 affects the physical properties and the physical stability of the gel formulation, which increased the viscosity and adhesiveness, but lowered the dispersive power. The concentration of carbopol 940 which qualified in physical properties and physical stability was concentration of 1% (Formula II). Selected Formula (Formula II) resulted 70.59% of inhibition percentage with 25.83 mm of inhibition zone. |
