| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini berjudul Hip Hop For Humanity (Studi Deskriptif Rap Crew Last Scientist Menjadikan Hip Hop Sebagai Gerakan Kemanusiaan). Last Scientist merupakan grup rap yang memiliki fokus pada gerakan sosial kemanusiaan. Lagu yang diciptakan selalu mengandung unsur edukasi dan pembangunan kesadaran. Selain itu Last Scientist juga aktif dalam gerakan sosial secara nyata dengan mendukung dan terlibat proses perjuangan yang dilakukan di Purwokerto. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Last Scientist dalam melakukan gerakan sosial dengan melakukan kajian terhadap hip hop sebagai cara melakukan gerakan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah semua pihak yang terlibat dan berhubungan dengan Last Scientist dengan teknik pemilihan informan secara purposive sampling. Metode analisis dengan metode analisi interaktif, dan validitas data menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan Last Scientist secara konsisten melakukan gerakannya melalui pembuatan lagu dan pastisipasi aktif di dalam masyarakat. Mereka terus mendukung gerakan perjuangan yang dilakukan di Purwokerto bersama seluruh elemen masyarakat. Budaya hip hop sebagai landasan perjuangan mereka yang berakar pada sejarah perjuangan masyarakat kulit hitam di Amerika. Mereka melakukan modifikasi dan kontekstualisasi agar sesuai dengan kondisi dan zaman yang dihadapinya. Kata kunci: gerakan sosial, hip hop, kemanusiaan |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | SUMMARY The title of this research is Hip Hop for Humanity (Descriptive Study of Last Scientist Rap Crew Use Hip Hop as the Humanity Movement). Last Scientist is a rap group that concerns about social humanity movement. Their songs are always contained with such factors as education and awareness building. Beside, Last Scientist is continually involved in real social movements which support the fighting process in Purwokerto. The purpose of this research is to analyse the role of Last Scientist in social movement with the analysis of Hip Hop as the tool to perform social movement. The method that is used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The objective of this research is everyone whose involved and related to Last Scientist with the purposive sampling as the informant selection technique. The data in this research is analysed with the interactive analysist method. Meanwhile, the source triangulation method is used to examine the validity of data. The conclusion of this research shows that Last Scientist is consistently running their movement through creating songs and real participation in the society. They continually support the insurrection in Purwokerto, together with every aspect of the society. Hip Hop culture, as their cornerstone, is rooted to the history of social movement of black people in United States of America. Hence, they are doing the modification and contextualization so the Hip Hop culture is synchronized with the condition that they are facing today. Key words: social movement, hip hop, humanity |
