| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Letusan Gunung Merapi yang terjadi pada tahun 2010 merupakan bencana letusan gunung merapi terbesar dari siklus tahunan yang terjadi di negara Indonesia. Bencana ini mengundang beragam pewarta foto media massa lokal dan mancanegara untuk ikut andil dalam proses peliputan letusan. Boy T Harjanto adalah salah satu pewarta foto yang berhasil mendokumentasikan dan mencapai keprofesionalannya sebagai pewarta foto setelah berhasil menerbitkan buku foto dokumenter “MT Merapi” secara mandiri. Penelitian yang telah dilakukan ini menggunakan metode semiotika Roland Barthes dan menggunakan lima kode leksia sebagai instrumen analisis tanda untuk merepresentasikan pesan dan makna sikap survival yang terkandung dalam tanda – tanda yang ada pada sembilan foto terseleksi. Analisa tanda menggunakan semiotika foto memiliki fungsi untuk mengetahui pesan, makna yang ingin disampaikan oleh fotografer melalui analisis denotatif – konotatif yang sampai pada tataran mitos. Pesan dan makna yang ingin disampaikan fotografer melihat peristiwa letusan Gunung Merapi ada kemungkinan bahwa foto merupakan komunikasi visual yang memiliki historikal tinggi untuk dimaknai oleh setiap manusia untuk berbenah diri dan menyadari akan arti dari mempertahankan hidup. | Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The eruption of the Merapi Mountain that happened in 2010 was the biggest eruption natural disaster of the Merapi Mountain from the annual cycle that happened in the country of Indonesia. This disaster invited vary of photography news of local and foreign press to participate in the process of eruption observation. Boy T Harjanto was one of the photography journalist who succeeded to document and achieve his professionalism ass the photography journalist after succeeding to launch the documenter book of “MT Merapi” autonomously. This research was conducted by using the method of semiotic Roland Barthes and five lexica code as the sign analysis instrument to represent the message and the meaning of survival manner that contained in the signs which was in the nine selected photos. The sign analysis used the photo semiotic that had the function to know the message, the meaning that wanted to be conveyed by photographer through the denotative-connotative analysis - that was delivered to the myth perception. The message and meaning that wanted to be delivered by photographer was to see the event of Merapi Eruption there was the possibly that the picture were the visual communication that had the high historical to be defined by every human to self-introspection and aware for the meaning of life survival. |
