| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu post thawing semen beku sapi Simmental terhadap viabilitas dan abnormalitas spermatozoa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Semen beku sapi Simmental dithawing pada suhu 37°C selama 30 detik. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0: Waktu Post Thawing Jam ke 0, P1: Waktu Post Thawing Jam ke 1, P2: Waktu Post Thawing Jam ke 2, P3: Waktu Post Thawing Jam ke 3. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak enam kali. Peubah yang diukur adalah viabilitas dan abnormalitas spermatozoa. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dan dilanjutkan dengan uji orthogonal polynomial dan uji beda nyata jujur. Rataan ± sd viabilitas untuk P0, P1, P2 dan P3 berturut-turut adalah 54,92 ± 3,69 %, 48,92 ± 2,50 %, 40,83 ± 3,16 % dan 32,17 ± 2,06 %. Uji lanjut orthogonal polynomial menunjukkan pengaruh linier. Uji BNJ menunjukkan bahwa semua perbandingan antar perlakuan berbeda nyata (P<0,05). Rataan ± sd abnormalitas untuk P0, P1, P2 dan P3 berturut-turut adalah 13,33 ± 0,60 %, 15,08 ± 1,24 %, 15,67 ± 0,87 % dan 17,08 ± 1,71 %. Uji Lanjut orthogonal polynomial menunjukkan pengaruh linier. Uji BNJ menunjukkan bahwa P0vsP2, P0vsP3 dan P1vsP3 berbeda nyata (P<0,05) sedangkan P0vsP1, P1vsP2 dan P2vsP3 berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05). Disimpulkan bahwa semakin lama waktu post thawing maka semakin jelek kualitas semen. Waktu post thawing semen beku sapi Simmental lebih dari 1 jam tidak layak digunakan untuk inseminasi buatan. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of post thawing time of Simmental frozen semen on viability and abnormality of spermatozoa. The study was carried out experimentaly using the Completely Randomized Design. Simmental frozen semen was thawed at temperature of 37°C for 30 seconds. The treatments consisted of P0: Post thawing time for 0 hour, P1: Post thawing time for 1 hour, P2: Post thawing time for 2 hours, P3: Post thawing time for 3 hours. Each treatment was repeated six times. The parameters measured were viability and abnormality of spermatozoa. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by polynomial orthogonal test and honestly significant difference test. Means ± sd of viability for P0, P1, P2 and P3 were 54.92 ± 3.69 %, 48.92 ± 2.50 %, 40.83 ± 3.16 % and 32.17 ± 2.06 %, respectively. Further test of orthogonal polynomial showed that the effect was linear. HSD test showed that all comparisons between treatments were significant differences (P<0.05). Means ± sd of abnormality for P0, P1, P2 and P3 were 13.33 ± 0.60 %, 15.08 ± 1.24 %, 15.67 ± 0.87 % and 17.08 ± 1.71 %, respectively. Further test of orthogonal polynomial showed that the effect was linear. In conclusion, as the post thawing time progresses, the quality of semen was decreases. Post thawing time of Simmental frozen semen over 1 hour is not feasible for artificial insemination. |
