| Judul Artikel | PERBEDAAN KONSENTRASI MYELOPEROXIDASE (MPO) DAN KADAR NIKOTIN ANTARA PEROKOK KRETEK, PEROKOK PUTIH FILTER, DAN NON PEROKOK DENGAN GINGIVITIS |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Gingivitis merupakan peradangan yang disebabkan oleh proses inflamasi pada jaringan gingiva. Gingivitis menunjukan adanya pembengkakan dan perubahan warna pada gingiva, hilangnya stippling, dan pendarahan saat probing. Kondisi gingivitis dapat diperparah oleh kebiasaan merokok akibat kandungan nikotin di dalamnya yang bersifat imunosupresif. Terdapat dua jenis rokok, yaitu rokok kretek dan rokok putih yang memiliki kadar nikotin berbeda sehingga berpengaruh terhadap tingkat keparahan gingivitis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan konsentrasi MPO dan kadar nikotin antara perokok kretek filter, perokok putih filter, dan non perokok yang menderita gingivitis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan rancangan crossectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah consecutive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan 60 subyek yang terbagi menjadi tiga kelompok, masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 20 subyek. Sampel yang digunakan adalah urin sebanyak 5 ml dan saliva sebanyak 2 ml. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan sebanyak satu kali pada setiap subyek di masing-masing kelompok. Kadar nikotin dalam urin dihitung menggunakan uji titrasi dan konsentrasi MPO dihitung menggunakan uji ELISA. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji one way ANOVA, uji Post Hoc LSD, dan dilanjutkan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil uji one way ANOVA dan Post Hoc LSD menunjukkan adanya perbedaan bermakna kadar nikotin dan konsentrasi MPO pada perokok kretek filter, perokok putih filter, dan non perokok dengan gingivitis (p<0,05). Uji korelasi Pearson menunjukkan hubungan antara peningkatan kadar nikotin dengan penurunan konsentrasi MPO pada semua kelompok (p<0,05). Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah konsentrasi MPO terendah dan kadar nikotin tertinggi terdapat pada kelompok perokok kretek filter dengan gingivitis |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Gingivitis is an inflammation caused by inflammatory process in the gingival tissues. Gingivitis shows the presence of swelling and discoloration on gingiva, loss of stippling, and bleeding on probing. The condition of gingivitis can be aggravated by smoking habits as a result of nicotine in it which are immunosuppressive. There are two types of cigarettes, namely kretek cigarettes and mild cigarettes that have different levels of nicotine and therefore contributes to the severity of gingivitis. The purpose of this research is to know the differences concentration of MPO and levels of nicotine between kretek filter smokers, mild filter smoker, and non-smokers with gingivitis. This type of research was observational analytic with crossectional design. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling. This study used 60 subjects which were divided into three groups, each group consisted of 20 subjects. The samples in this study used 5 ml urine and 2 ml saliva. Sampling was performed one time on each subject in each group. The levels of nicotine in the urine was calculated by titration test and the concentration of MPO calculated by ELISA test. The data were analyzed by one way ANOVA, Post Hoc LSD, dan Pearson Correlation. Results one way ANOVA and Post Hoc LSD test showed a significant difference in levels of nicotine and concentration of MPO in kretek filter smokers, mild filter smokers, and non-smokers with gingivitis (p<0,05). Pearson correlation test showed an association between increased levels of nicotine by decreasing the concentration of MPO in all groups (p<0.05). The conclusions of this research is the lowest MPO concentration and the highest nicotine levels found in the group of kretek filter smokers with gingivitis. |
