Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Kentang merupakan komoditas penting setelah beras dan gandum. Mutasi telah dilakukan terhadap tanaman kentang untuk budidaya di lahan medium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) mengetahui pertumbuhan klon-klon kentang hasil mutasi 2) mengetahui produksi klon-klon kentang hasil mutasi 3) mengetahui karakter kualitatif klon hasil mutasi 4) mengetahui klon mutan yang unggul dari segi pertumbuhan dan produksi.
Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Mei sampai bulan Agustus 2015 di Desa Ketenger, Kecamatan Baturraden, Kabupaten Banyumas pada ketinggian 540 m dpl. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan Augmented dengan rancangan dasar RAK. Faktor yang dicoba adalah umbi kentang hasil mutasi generasi ke 2 sejumlah 33 umbi. Sebagai varietas cek yang digunakan yaitu Vega, Granola, Atlantik, Tedjo MZ, Median, dan Bliss. Variabel kuantitatif yang diamati meliputi waktu tumbuh, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah batang, diameter batang, jumlah umbi, bobot tanaman kering, bobot total umbi per tanaman, rerata bobot umbi per tanaman, diameter umbi, rerata diameter umbi, dan umur panen. Variabel kualitatif yang diamati meliputi kebiasaan tumbuh, susunan daun, bunga atau tidak, bentuk umbi, warna kulit umbi, warna daging umbi, warna daun, dan, frekuensi daun menyimpang. Data dari varietas cek dianalisis dengan uji F, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji Least Significant Increase (LSI) pada taraf 5% untuk megetahui pertumbuhan klon kentang hasil mutasi.
Hasil penelitian terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil klon mutan menunjukkan bahwa 26 klon memiliki waktu tumbuh tunas lebih cepat dari varietas cek. Klon Mutan MD1-11, MD1-31, AD2-11, AD2-21, AD2-51, AD2-82, GD3-23, AD3-31, AD3-51, dan MD3-21; klon GD1-71, GD1-92, GD1-143, AD1-12, AD1-81, AD2-72, MD2-11, dan GD3-21 melebihi varietas cek Granola, Tedjo MZ, dan Vega; klon GD1-12, GD1-22, GD1-41, GD1-61, GD1-73, GD1-141, AD1-41, dan GD2-63 melebihi varietas cek Granola dan Vega; berdasarkan variabel tinggi tanaman sebanyak 4 klon yaitu GD1-143, MD1-11, GD3-23, dan AD2-21 melebihi varietas cek Tedjo MZ; berdasarkan variabel jumlah daun sebanyak 3 klon yaitu GD1-143, GD2-63, dan AD2-82 melebihi varietas cek Bliss; berdasarkan variabel jumlah batang sebanyak 2 klon yaitu GD1-92 dan MD1-31 melebihi varietas cek Granola, Median, dan Tedjo MZ. Klon mutan kentang yang memiliki keunggulan dari segi produksi berdasarkan variabel bobot total umbi per tanaman sebanyak 11 klon yaitu AD1-12, AD2-11, AD2-21, AD2-72, AD3-51, dan MD3-21 melebihi varietas cek Granola dan Tedjo MZ; klon GD1-92, MD1-11, GD2-61, MD2-11 dan AD3-31 melebihi varietas cek Tedjo MZ. Berdasarkan karakter kualitatif, variabel bentuk umbi menunjukkan perubahan pada mutan Atlantik dari bundar menjadi oval pendek, sedangkan pada mutan Tedjo MZ dari bundar menjadi oval panjang .Perubahan lain terjadi pada karakter warna daging umbi pada mutan Atlantik dari krem menjadi kuning muda. Karakter warna daun mutan Granola berubah dari hijau sedang menjadi hijau gelap. Klon mutan AD1-12, AD2-11, AD2-21, AD2-72, AD3-31, AD3-51, MD3-21, GD1-92, MD2-11 memiliki keunggulan dari segi produksi dan pertumbuhan.


Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Potato is one of the most important commodities after rice and wheat. Mutation of potato tubers were undertaken for screens potato plants to adapted medium altitude. This research aimed to know the growth, yield, qualitative characteristics of potato clones, produced by mutation and to know clone mutants are superior in term of growth and production.
The research was conducted from May to August 2015 in Ketenger, Baturraden, Banyumas at an altitude of 540 m above sea level. This study composed by augmented design with RCBD. Factors tested were 33 second generation of mutation potato tubers. As the check varieties, Vega, Granola, Atlantik, Tedjo MZ, Median, and Bliss were used in this study. Quantitative variables observed were growing time, plant height, leaf number, stem number, stem diameter, number of tubers, plant dry weight, the total weight of tubers per plant, average tuber weight per plant, diameter of tuber, the average diameter of tuber, and plant harvest age. Whereas qualitative variables observed were growth habit, leaf arrangement, flowering or not flowering, tuber shape, tuber peel color, tuber flesh color, leaf color, and the frequency of diverged leaves. Data from checked varieties were analyzed by F test, then proceed with the Least Significant Increase (LSI) test at the level of 5% to determine the growth of mutated clones.
The research result of growth and yield potatoes mutans showed that as there were 26 clones mutans had faster growing time than check varieties. That had MD1-11, MD1-31, AD2-11, AD2-21, AD2-51, AD2-82, GD3-23, AD3-31, AD3-51, and MD3-21 clones; GD1-71, GD1-92, GD1-143, AD1-12, AD1-81, AD2-72, MD2-11, and GD3-21 clones faster than Granola, Tedjo MZ, and Vega checked varieties; GD1-12, GD1-22, GD1-41, GD1-61, GD1-73, GD1-141, AD1-41, and GD2-63 clones faster than Granola and Vega checked varieties; Based on the plant height variable as many as 4 clones, there are GD1-143, MD1-11, GD3-23, and AD2-21 clones exceeded than Tedjo MZ check variety; Based on the number of leaf variable as many as 3 clones, there are GD1-143, GD2-63, and AD2-82 clones exceeded than Bliss check variety; Based on the number of steam variable as many as 2 clones, there are GD1-92 and MD1-31 clones exceeded than Granola, Median, and Tedjo MZ check variety. The mutant of potato clones that surpass from production side based on the total weight of tuber per plant variable as many as 11 clones, there are AD1-12, AD2-11, AD2-21, AD2-72, AD3-51, and MD3-21 clones exceeded than Granola and Tedjo MZ check variety; GD1-92, MD1-11, GD2-61, MD2-11 and AD3-31 clones exceeded than Tedjo MZ. Based on tuber shape of qualitative characteristics, Atlantik mutant showed a transformation from round into short oval and a round shape transformed into long oval on Tedjo MZ mutant. The other changes of happen in the character of the bulb color alteration from cream into yellow pale was shown by Atlantik mutant. Granola mutant leaf color was changed from dark green to medium green. Clone mutans AD1-12, AD2-11, AD2-21, AD2-72, AD3-31, AD3-51, MD3-21, GD1-92, and MD2-11 have been an advantage in terms of the production and growth.
