Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keefektifan dan pengaruh metabolit sekunder dua isolat Trichoderma harzianum yaitu isolat jahe dan bawang merah secara tunggal maupun gabunganya, dalam menekan penyakit busuk kering pada buah pepaya lepas panen. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Penyakit Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto, mulai Desember 2015 sampai Maret 2016. Penelitian menggunakan uji in vitro dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dan uji in vivo dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok masing-masing enam ulangan dan empat perlakuan, terdiri atas kontrol, metabolit sekunder T. harzianum isolat jahe dan bawang merah, serta gabungan metabolit sekunder T. harzianum isolat jahe dan bawang merah. Variabel pengamatan meliputi masa inkubasi, luas serangan, intensitas penyakit, kekerasan buah, kadar gula, warna, rasa, aroma, tekstur, dan kesukaan buah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metabolit sekunder T. harzianum isolat jahe, bawang merah, dan gabungannya mampu menekan pertumbuhan patogen in vitro masing-masing sebesar 42,89; 58,75; dan 45,19%, menekan luas serangan masing-masing sebesar 59,33; 62,73; dan 58,82%, serta menekan intensitas penyakit masing-masing sebesar 38,2; 39,72; dan 36,15%. Perlakuan metabolit sekunder T. harzianum isolat gabungan memiliki tingkat penurunan kekerasan paling rendah yaitu sebesar 59%. Perlakuan metabolit sekunder T. harzianum isolat bawang merah menunjukkan peningkatan kadar gula tertinggi sebesar 12%. Perlakuan metabolit sekunder T. harzianum berpengaruh terhadap rasa, aroma dan kesukaan, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap warna dan tekstur buah. Namun demikian, metabolit sekunder T. harzianum isolat jahe dan bawang merah secara tunggal lebih baik dibandingkan dengan gabungan.

Inggris)This research aimed to study the effectiveness and the effect of secondary metabolites from two T. harzianum isolates, i.e.,ginger and shallot isolates, alone or in combination to suppress dry rot of postharvest papaya. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto, from December 2015 to March 2016. Randomised block design on in vitro test and completely randomised design on in vivo test was used respectively six replicates and four treatments, i.e., control, secondary metabolites from T. harzianum ginger, shallot, and the combination between ginger and shallot isolates. Variables observed were incubation period, attack area, disease intensity, hardness fruit, sugar content, color, taste, aroma, texture, and preferred. Result of the research showed that the secondary metabolites of T. harzianum ginger, shallot, and the combination isolates could suppress the pathogen growth in vitro as 42.89, 58.75, and 45.19%, respectively, the attack area as 59.33, 62.73, and 58.82%, respectively, and the disease intensity as 38.2, 39.72, and 36.15%, respectively. The secondary metabolites from the combination isolates could decrease highly fruit hardness as 59%. The secondary metabolite of T. harzianum shallot isolates indicated the highest sugar content as 12%. All treatments affected the taste, aroma and preferred, but not in color and texture. The secondary metabolites of T. harzianum ginger and shallots isolates alone, however, was better than the combination isolates.
