Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar VFA dan N-NH3 pada beberapa hijauan dalam pakan sapi potong secara In Vitro. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 4 – 15 Februari 2016 di Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimental dan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Peubah yang diukur adalah kadar VFA(Volatile fatty acid ) dan Kadar N-NH3 (Amonia). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,001) terhadap kadar VFA dan N-NH3. Perlakuan dapat memberikan pengaruh yaitu kadar VFA dan N-NH3 yang terkandung dalam hijauan mampu memenuhi kebutuhan Nutrien dalam Rumen. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa perlakuan P1 (Daun Jagung) merupakan perlakuan dengan kadar VFA (Volatile fatty acid) tertinggi diantara keempat perlakuan . Perlakuan P4 (Alang-alang) merupakan perlakuan dengan kadar Amonia / N-NH3 tertinggi diantara keempat perlakuan. Berdasarkan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ), Kadar VFA masing-masing perlakuan dan kontrol Berbeda Nyata (P1 219.066 ± 37.142, P2 138.868 ± 59.452, P3 217.670 ± 28.936, P4 174.940 ± 34.182). Kadar Amonia atau N-NH3 masing-masing perlakuan dan kontrol Berbeda Nyata (P1 14.154 ± 5.409 , P2 14.492 ± 6.170 ,P3 7.432 ± 2.411, P4 20.414 ± 8.907).
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)This study aims to determine the levels of VFA and N-NH3 of some forage in beef cattle feed by in vitro. The study had been conducted from 4 to 15 February 2016 at the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Food Sciences, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of General Sudirman, Purwokerto. The method was experimental and designed within a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The variables were the levels of VFA (volatile fatty acid) and those of N-NH3 (Ammonia). Data were analyzed by using an analysis of variance. The results showed that treatments significantly affected (P <0.001) the VFA levels and N-NH3. The treatment influence is that the levels of VFA and N-NH3 contained in forage meet the needs of nutrients in rumen. This study concludes that the treatment P1 produces (Leaf Maize) the highest levels of VFA (volatile fatty acid) among the outcomes from the other treatments. The treatment P4 (Reed) produces the highest ammonia levels / N-NH 3 among the other four treatments. Based on the honest significant difference (HSD) test, VFA levels at each treatment and control are significantly different (219 066 ± 37 142, P2 138 868 ± 59 452, P3 217.670 ± 28.936, P4 174 940 ± 34 182 ). The levels of ammonia or N - NH 3 at each treatment and control are significantly different (P1 14 154 ± 5409, P2 14 492 ± 6170, P3 7.432 ± 2.411, P4 20 414 ± 8907 ) .
