| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi interaksi antara bahan pembawa dengan level ekstrak bunga waru terhadap produksi gas total dan Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA). Materi penelitian menggunakan pakan basal berupa jerami padi amoniasi dan konsentrat dengan imbangan bahan kering adalah 55:45. Faktor pertama adalah jenis bahan pembawa ekstrak yaitu jerami padi amoniasi (J), pollard (P) dan bungkil kedelai (B). Faktor kedua adalah dosis ekstrak etanol bunga waru yaitu 0 ppm (E1), 50 ppm (E2) dan 100 ppm (E3). Dengan demikian, pola faktorial 3 x 3 menghasilkan kombinasi JE1, JE2, JE3, PE1, PE2, PE3, BE1, BE2 dan BE3 sebagai perlakuan. Rancangan Acak Kelompok digunakan pada penelitian ini, dan periode pengambilan cairan rumen dari 3 ekor sapi yang berbeda sebagai kelompok perlakuan. Variabel yang diukur adalah gas total dan VFA. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Jujur. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The research aims at evaluating the interaction between the carrier and the dose of Hibiscus tiliaceus extract levels and its influence on the total gas and VFA production. The research materials were basal diet consisting of ammoniated rice straw and concentrate with dry matter ratio 55%:45%. The first factor was the types of carrier which were ammoniated rice straw (J), pollard (P) and soybean meal (B). The second factor was the doses of hibiscus tiliaceus extract which were 0 ppm (E1), 50 ppm (E2) and 100 ppm (E3). Therefore, this 3 x 3 factorial pattern combined JE1, JE2, JE3, PE1, PE2, PE3, BE1, BE2 and BE3 as the treatments. This research used a Randomized Block Design with the period of fluid rumen collection from three different cattle as the block. The variables measured were the total gas and VFA. Data were analysed by an analysis of variance and followed by Honestly Significant Difference Test. |
