| Judul Artikel | KEBUTUHAN AIR TANAMAN PADA PRODUKSI BENIH KENTANG (Solanum tuberosum L.) DI DATARAN RENDAH DENGAN SISTEM AEROPONIK |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Cultivation seed potato in the highlands potents to cause environmental pollution, erosion and unhealthy seeds caused by an endemic of yellow-sista nematode. Cultivation of potato seeds in lowland areas with aeroponic system nowadays is becoming popular to be developed to minimize the problems. Aeroponic is a cultivation system by spraying water and nutrients to plant root zone. The zone in the system aeroponic is hang in air and the plant is supported by styrofoam. The amount of water used for seeds potato cultivation with an aeroponic systems in lowland areas is important to be identified. Quantifying crop water requirement is needed to gain the efficiency during cultivation, however this has not been widely examined. The purpose of this research was to: (1) know the crop water requirements of potato seeds with aeroponic systems in lowland area, and (2) know the crop growth of potato seeds in lowland area through aeroponic system. The research was located in a greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman with 125 m above sea level. The experiment used two different cooling treatments, namely cooling and without cooling. The observed data consisted of microclimate, crop growth and water requirements. The obtained data were tabulated and analyzed graphically. The results showed that the aeroponic potato seeds with cooling treatment were better in growth than without-cooling treatment. The seeds without cooling treatment could not optimally grown, due to high air temperatures above and below the crop. The average crop water requirement of the seeds with cooling treatment was about 0.05mm/day, while those without cooling treatment was 0.40 mm/day. These values were lower compared to the conventional which reached 350-625 mm during the growing season. |
