Bakteri antagonis Pseudomonas fluorescens mempunyai potensi sebagai bioinsektisida. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan bakteri Pseudomonas fluorescens terhadap mortalitas larva serangga Epilachna vigintioctopunctata, penurunan aktivitas makan larva E. vigintioctopunctata dan ukuran pupa serangga tersebut yang diperlakukan dengan bakteri P. fluorescens. Penelitian dilaksanakan di rumah kaca dan Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto pada bulan Mei hingga September 2015. Rancangan yang digunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok non-faktorial, dengan tiga ulangan. Percobaan terdiri dari 8 perlakuan yaitu kontrol, P. fluorescens P32 (1, 5, dan 10 mL/100 mL ), P60 (1, 5, dan 10 mL/100 mL ) dan insektisida profenofos konsentrasi 0,1 mL/100 mL. Setiap unit perlakuan percobaan menggunakan larva E. vigintioctopunctata 10 ekor larva dan 10 g daun terung. Variabel yang diamati yaitu mortalitas larva, tingkat konsumsi larva, ukuran pupa yang terbentuk, dan persentase jumlah pupa yang terbentuk. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji F taraf 5 persen dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bakteri P. fluorescens efektif mematikan larva E. vigintioctopunctata sebesar 60 persen (P. fluorescens P32) dan 36 persen (P. fluorescens P60), bakteri P. fluorescens cenderung menurunkan tingkat konsumsi larva, menurunkan panjang pupa (kontrol 5,86 mm, P. fluorescens P32 4,63 mm), menurunkan bobot pupa (kontrol 65,0 mg, P. fluorescens P32 32,0 mg) dan menurunkan persentase jumlah pupa yang terbentuk (kontrol 83,33 persen, P. fluorescens P32 40,00 persen).

Pseudomonas fluorescens is well-known bacterial antagonist has potency as bioinsecticide. The goals of this research were to find out effect of bacterial antagonist treatment (Pseudomonas fluorescens) on larval mortality of Epilachna vigintioctopunctata, consumption activity of E. vigintioctopunctata larvae and pupal size of E. vigintioctopunctata that treated with P. fluorescens. The research was conducted in greenhouse and Plant Protection Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Unsoed Purwokerto on May - September 2015. The research used Randomized Block Design with non-factorial, with three replications. The trial consisted of 8 treatments : kontrol, P. fluorescens P32 (1, 5, and 10 mL/100 mL ), P60 (1, 5, and 10 mL/100 mL ) and insecticide prophenophos 0,1 mL/100 mL. Each treatment was used 10 individu of larvae E. vigintioctopunctata and 10 g eggplant leaf. Measured variables were larval mortality, consumption level, pupal size and percentage of formed pupae. Data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by Least Significant Difference test (LSD) level of 5 percent. Result showed bacterial antagonist P. fluorescens were effective to kill larvae of E. vigintioctopunctata up to 60 percent (P. fluorescens P32) and 36 percent (P. fluorescens P60), lower comsumption level of larvae, lowered pupal length (control 5.86 mm, P. fluorescens P32 4.63 mm), lowered pupal weight (control 65,0 mg, P. fluorescens P32 32,0 mg) dan lowered percentage of formed pupae (control 83.33 percent, P. fluorescens P32 40.00 percent).
