| Judul Artikel | PENGARUH PEMBERIAN SARI BUAH MARKISA UNGU (Passiflora edulis var edulis) TERHADAP KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL TIKUS (Rattus Norvegicus) MODEL HIPERKOLESTEROLEMIA |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Latar Belakang: Hiperkolesterolemia dapat meningkatkan risiko aterosklerosis, penyakit jantung koroner dan stroke. Terapi alternatif dari bahan herbal dapat diberikan untuk membantu penggunaan obat standar. Markisa ungu mempunyai bahan aktif berupa antioksidan yang dapat menurunkan kolesterol dalam darah. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh pemberian sari buah markisa ungu (passiflora edulis var edulis) terhadap kadar kolesterol total tikus (rattus norvegicus) model hiperkolesterolemia. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental menggunakan rancangan pre and post test with control group. Objek penelitian 30 ekor tikus putih dibagi ke dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok I (kontrol sehat), kelompok II (kontrol negatif), kelompok III (sari markisa ungu 1,1 mL/200gram BB/hari), kelompok IV (sari markisa ungu 2,2 mL/200gram BB/hari), kelompok V (sari markisa ungu 4,2 mL/200gram BB/hari). Semua hewan coba diinduksi hiperkolesterolemia menggunakan minyak babi 3 mL/200gram BB/hari dan kuning telur bebek 2 mL/200gram BB/hari selama 10 hari kecuali pada kelompok I. Pengambilan darah melalui retro orbital dilakukan pada akhir induksi dan akhir perlakuan untuk diukur kadar kolesterol total. Analisis data menggunakan software komputer. Uji distribusi data menggunakan Saphiro-Wilk, uji beda menggunakan One Way Anova dan post hoc LSD Hasil: Terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan dengan sari buah markisa ungu (ANOVA, p=0,001). Uji post hoc menunjukan rerata bahwa pemberian markisa ungu dosis 4,2 mL/200gram BB/hari dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol total dan berbeda signifikan terhadap kelompok II (kelompok sakit) (p=0,046). Kesimpulan: Sari buah markisa ungu dosis 4,2 mL/200gram BB/hari efektif menurunkan kolesterol total pada tikus model hiperkolesterolemia. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Background: Hypercholesterolemia can increase the risk of atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, and stroke. Herbal medicine can be given as adjuvant therapy along with standardized drugs. Passiflora edulis var edulis has antioxidant potential which can lower blood cholesterol level. Purpose: To analyze the effect of Passiflora edulis var edulis on total cholesterol level in hypercholesterolemia rat models. Methods: This was a true experimental research with pre and post test with control group design. Thirty rats were divided into five groups: group I (healthy control), group II (negative control), group III (1,1 mL/200grBW/day of Passiflora edulis var edulis juice ), group IV (2,2 mL/200grBW/day of Passiflora edulis var edulis juice), and group V (4,2 mL/200grBW/day of Passiflora edulis var edulis juice). All rats were induced using pig fat oil 3 mL/200grBW/day and duck egg yolk 2 mL/200grBW/day for 10 days, except for group I. Blood was collected from retro orbital at the end of induction and at the end of treatment to measure total cholesterol level. Statistic analysis was performed using computer software. Data distribution was tested using Saphiro-Wilk and comparative test was done using One Way Anove with post hoc LSD. Results: There was significant difference between pre and post Passiflora edulis var edulis juice treatment (ANOVA, p=0,001). Post hoc showed Passiflora edulis var edulis 4,2 mL/200grBW/day could lower total cholesterol and it was significantly different to group II (negative control) (p=0,046). Conclusion: 4,2 mL/200grBW/day of Passiflora edulis var edulis juice was effective to lower total cholesterol in hypercholesterolemia rat models. |
