Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Semut merupakan salah satu arthropoda dan invertebrata tanah yang mempunyai arti ekologi penting pada ekosistem tanah. Semut dapat berperan sebagai ecosystem engineers yang berperan dalam memperbaiki struktur tanah dan aerasi tanah. Pertanian anorganik diduga mempengaruhi keragaman serangga tanah salah satunya famili Formicidae (semut). Strategi dalam mengurangi dampak negatif pertanian anorganik adalah penerapan sistem pertanian organik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keragaman serangga semut pada lahan organik hasil konversi dan lahan anorganik, mengetahui pada lahan manakah tingkat keragaman serangga semut yang paling banyak ditemukan, dan mengetahui pengaruh konversi lahan dari lahan anorganik menjadi organik terhadap keragaman semut.
Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode survey di Desa Nyalembeng Kecamatan Pulosari Kabupaten Pemalang, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposif mengikuti garis transek. Semut dikoleksi menggunakan pitfall trap. Variabel yang diamati terdiri dari variabel tergantung dan tidak tergantung. Variabel tidak tergantung penelitian ini adalah lahan organik hasil konversi, lahan anorganik, suhu, pH tanah. Variabel tergantung penelitian ini adalah kelimpahan dan keragaman semut. Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah total semut, jumlah spesies semut. Selanjtnya semut di analisis keragamannya menggunakan indeks Shannon-Wiener, indeks Kesamaan Morista-Horn, dan uji t.
Hasil penelitian didapat jumlah spesies dan individu yang didapat di lahan organik hasil konversi lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan lahan anorganik. Pada lahan organik hasil konversi didapat 287 individu dan 13 spesies semuy, di lahan anorganik didapat 72 individu dan 10 spesies semut. Indeks keragaman Shannon-Wiener di lahan organik hasil konversi 4,33 dan di lahan anorganik 3,42. Indeks Morisita-Horn di kedua lahan sebesar 33% artinya terdapat perbedaan komposisi spesies di kedua lahan sebesar 67%. Hasil uji t didapat t hitung (6,984) < t tabel (8,854).

Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Ants are one of arthropods and also soil invertebrates that has important ecological role in the soil ecosystem. Ants act as ecosystem engineers that play a role in improving soil structure and soil aeration. Anorganic farming had predicted would affect the diversity of soil insects, one of them is from family Formicidae (ants). One of the strategy to reduce the negative impacts of anorganic farming systems is using organic farming systems. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of ants in the organic farming resulting from the conversion and anorganic farming, to find out the area with the highest ants diversity, and to determine the effect of land conversion from anorganic to organic toward the diversity of ants.
This study was conducted in Nyalembeng Village Pemalang, using survey methods, by using purposive sampling technique following the line transect. Ants were collected using pitfall traps. Variables observed consisted of dependent and independent variable. The independent variables are of this study are the organic land resulted from conversion process, anorganic land, temperature, pH of the soil. The dependent variables of this study are the abundance and the diversity of ants species. Parameters measured were the total number of ants, the number of ant species. Ants diversity were analyzed using Shannon-Wiener index, Morista-Horn similarity index, and t test.
This study found that the number of individual and species collected from the organic farming resulting from the conversion are higher compared with the anorganic farming. The organic farming resulting from the conversion obtained 287 individuals from 13 species of ants, and the anorganic farming obtained 72 individuals from 10 species of ants. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index of organic farming resulting from the conversion is 4,33 and 3,42 from the anorganic farming. Morisita-Horn index in both farm are 33% which means the species composition in both farming were differ by 67%. T test results obtained t count ( 6,984 ) < t table ( 8,854 ).
