Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan perbandingan karakteristik sedimen dan kondisi lingkungan pengendapan di sekitar perairan Selat Durian pada tahun 1955, 1994, 1995, 2001, dan 2005 serta mengetahui jumlah volume sedimen yang terendapkan di perairan Selat Durian tahun tersebut. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif, dengan pendekatan pemetaan menggunakan software Mapinfo 8.0, ArcGis 10.1 dan Surfer 8.0. Hasil menunjukkan Sebaran lumpur pasiran mendominasi daerah perairan Selat Durian pada tahun 2005 sedangkan, untuk tahun 1995 sedimen lanau daerah Perairan Selat Durian. Secara umum sedimen permukaan daerah penelitian pada tahun 2005 disusun oleh fraksi lumpur (0-89,5%) sedangkan untuk yang terkecil (0-8,5%) yakni fraksi sedimen kerikil. Nilai sortasi pada daerah penelitian dalam kategori very poorly sorted. Daerah penelitian didominasi oleh kategori coarse skewed, sedangkan untuk kategori kurtosis pada daerah penelitian dominan terhadap kategori Very leptokurtic. Hasil dari sebaran sedimen pada tahun 1995 dan 2005 menunjukkan bahwa Selat Durian termasuk dalam kategori lingkungan pengendapan nearshore dan shelf modern. Berdasarkan jumlah volume sedimen rata-rata yang dihasilkan pada tahun 1955 maka, didapatkan volume sebesar 217.167.600 m³, pada tahun 1994 sebesar 189.105.300 m³, pada tahun 2001 sebesar 470.178.000 m³, dan tahun 2005 sebesar 414.169.800 m³. |

Inggris) | The aim of this study was to described the comparison of the sediment deposition characteristics and water’s environmental conditions of the Durian Strait in 1955, 1994, 1995, 2001 and 2005 and determined the volume of water’s sediment deposition in the Durian Strait of years repectically. Descriptive method was used with the mapping approach by using Mapinfo 8.0 software, ArcGIS 10.1 and Surfer 8.0. Results showed the distribution of sandy silt dominate in 2005 while, for 1995 sediment silt Durian Strait area. In general, the surface sediment study area in 2005 composed by silt fraction (0 to 89.5%) while the smallest (0 to 8.5%) composed by gravel fraction. Sorting values in the study area within the category of very poorly sorted. The study area is dominated by coarse skewed category, while for the category of kurtosis in the research area was dominant by very leptokurtic category. Results of sediment distribution in 1995 and 2005 showed that the depositional environment of Durian Strait included to nearshore and shelf modern. Based on the amount of the average volume of sediment produced in 1955 then, obtained a volume of 217.167.600 m³, in 1994 amounted to 189.105.300 m³, in 2001 amounted to 470.178.000 m³, and in 2005 amounted to 414.169.800 m³. |
