Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Daun alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) diketahui mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tween 80 dan span 80 terhadap sifat fisik dan stabilitas sediaan krim ekstrak etanolik daun alpukat dan persen peredaman formula terbaik terhadap radikal DPPH.
Pembuatan ekstrak etanol daun alpukat dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Formula sediaan krim dibuat dengan membandingkan konsentrasi emulgator tween 80 dan span 80 yaitu Formula 1 (75%:25%), Formula 2 (85%:15%) dan Formula 3 (95%:5%). Krim yang terbentuk diuji sifat fisik dan stabilitasnya. Formula terbaik yang memenuhi syarat uji sifat fisik dan stabilitas selama penyimpanan 28 hari diuji aktivitas antioksidannya dengan metode DPPH. Data hasil evaluasi organoleptik, homogenitas dan pH dianalisis secara deskriptif. Sedangkan hasil pengukuran viskositas, daya sebar, daya lekat dan persen peredaman dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA satu arah dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%, bila terdapat perbedaan dilanjutkan dengan uji LSD.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi tween 80 dan penurunan konsentrasi span 80 menyebabkan viskositas semakin meningkat, daya sebar semakin rendah dan daya lekat semakin tinggi. Formula terbaik terdapat pada Formula 3 dengan nilai viskositas sebesar 25.220-43.960 cps, daya sebar sebesar 4,90-5,50 cm, daya lekat sebesar 1,41-4,65 detik dan persen peredaman radikal DPPH sebesar 69,33%.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Avocado leaves (Persea americana Mill.) was known contain flavonoids that have antioxidant activity. This study aimed to determine the effect of tween 80 and span 80 on the physical properties and stability of cream ethanolic extract from avocado leaves and to know the antioxidant activity by DPPH radical scavenging activity.
The extract of Avocado leaves was made by maseration using 70% ethanol. Cream formula preparation was done by comparing the emulsifiers concentration tween 80 and span 80 were Formula 1 (75%:25%), Formula 2 (85%:15%) and Formula 3 (95%:5%). Cream was tested the physical properties and stability. The best formula that qualified in physical properties and stability during storage for 28 days was examined antioxidant activity by DPPH method. The organoleptic data, homogenity and pH were analyzed descriptively. While the data of viscosity, adhesion, dispersive power and DPPH radical scavenging activity were analyzed by one-way ANOVA with 95% confidence level, them were followed by LSD test.
The results showed that increasing concentrations of tween 80 and decreasing concentration of span 80 would increase viscosity and adhesion but decrease the dispersive power. The best formula was Formula 3 with viscosity range 25220-43960 cp, dispersive power range 4.90 to 5.50 cm, adhesion range 1.41 to 4.65 seconds and DPPH radical scavenging activity was 69.33%.
