| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini berjudul “The Negative Effects of Divorced Family Depicted in Jason Mraz’s Song Lyrics: Love for a Child, Too Much Food and What Mama Say”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan efek negative dari perceraian terhadap anak-anak dalam keluarga. Menggunaka teori sosiologi literature oleh Lurenson dan Swingewood. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif qualitative. Sumber penelitian dan data didapat dari lirik lagu Jason Mraz yang berjudul Love for a Child, Too Much Food, What Mama Say, buku-buku serta jurnal-jurnal ilmiah. Kemudian data yang didapat dianalisa menggunakan teori sosiologi literature. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perceraian, secara permanen melemahkan keluarga serta hubungan antara anak dan orang tua. Perceraian seringkali menuju pada konflik dan perpecahan pengelolaan keluarga, mengurangi hubungan social, cepat kehilangan keperawanan (untuk wanita), juga berkurangnya rasa percaya diri pada remaja. Perceraian juga menjadi lebih banyak masalah dengan pasangan, serta pesimis dengan hubungan. Dan juga keinginan kecil untuk mempunyai anak. Paul Amato, dosen sociologi di Universitas Pensnsylvania menyimpulkan: perceraian menimbulkan “terganggunya hubungan orangtua dan anak, berlanjutnya perselisihan antar mantan pasangan, hilangnya dukungan emosi, ekonomi lemah, dan meningkatnya kejadian negatif. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The research is entitled “The Negative Effects of Divorced Family Depicted in Jason Mraz’s Song lyrics: “Love for a Child, Too Much Food and What Mama Say”. The purposes of the research are to find out the negative effects of divorced family to the children. Using the theory sociology of literature Laurenson and Swingewood. This research was analyzed by descriptive qualitative approach. The source of the data is Jason Mraz’ Song lyrics entitled Love for a Child, Too Much Food, What Mama Says, books and journal. Then, the collected data were analyzed through sociology of literature theory. The result of this study shows divorce permanently weakens the family and the relationship between children and parents. It frequently leads to destructive conflict management methods, diminished social competence and for children, the early loss of virginity, as well as diminished sense of masculinity or femininity for young adults. It also results in more trouble with dating, more cohabitation, and greater likelihood of divorce, higher expectations of divorce later in life, and a decreased desire to have children. Paul Amato, professor of sociology at Pennsylvania State University summed it up: divorce leads to “disruptions in the parent-child relationship, continuing discord between former spouses, loss of emotional support, economic hardship, and an increase in the number of other negative life events.” |
