Indonesia) | From the research that has been done can be concluded that the meaning of multilevel through Barthes semiotic theory through denotative meaning, connotative meaning, myths and reading five leksia code in some of the photos in the Photo Story book The Riders of Destiny, identified signs and symbols that represent the exploitation of children in pacoa jaratradition or horse racing in the area of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara in Indonesia. Children 5-12 years old become young jockey without maximum security, the right to a decent education is not provided by the parents, as well as the utilization of their small body to become a young jockey with a high risk of becoming the representation of children who are exploited for the benefit and advantage various parties. |

Inggris) | Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam pemaknaan bertingkat melalui teori semiotika Barthes, yaitu pemaknaan denotatif, konotatif, mitos serta pembacaan lima kode leksia dalam beberapa foto pada buku Photo Story The Riders of Destiny, teridentifikasi penanda dan petanda yang merepresentasikan adanya eksploitasi anak pada tradisi pacoa jara atau pacuan kuda di daerah Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara Barat di Indonesia. Anak-anak berumur 5-12 tahun menjadi joki cilik tanpa pengamanan yang maksimal, hak pendidikan yang layak tidak diberikan oleh orang tua, serta pemanfaatan tubuh kecil mereka untuk menjadi joki cilik dengan resiko yang tinggi menjadi representasi anak-anak yang dimanfaatkan untuk kepentingan dan keuntungan berbagai pihak. |
