| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan lama penyimpanan semen pada caput dan cauda epididymis sapi Simmental post mortem terhadap motilitas, integritas membran dan pH spermatozoa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental laboratorium dengan menggunakan 18 buah testis sapi Simmental usia kisaran 2 sampai 3 tahun. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), kemudian dilanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Nilai motilitas masing – masing perlakuan yaitu P1 pada bagian caput dan cauda sebesar 65.8 ± 6.6 dan 75.83 ± 6.1, P2 pada bagian caput dan cauda sebesar 54.2 ± 13.2 dan 70 ± 3.2, serta P3 pada bagian caput dan cauda sebesar 45.8 ± 12.8 dan 66.7 ± 4.1. Hasil uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) menunjukkan bahwa lama penyimpanan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap motilitas spermatozoa sapi Simmental (P<0.01). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah semakin lama penyimpanan semen maka motilitas spermatozoa akan semakin menurun, akan tetapi lama penyimpanan semen tidak mempengaruhi integritas membran dan pH spermatozoa |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The aim of this research was to determine the effects of semen storage time on sperm motility, membrane integrity and pH in caput and cauda epididymis of postmortem simmental cattle. This research method used was an experimental laboratory using 18 testis of Simmental cattle in range of age about 2 to 3 years. Data were analyzed using analysis variances of completely randomized design (CRD), followed by a Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test. Motility values on each treatment of P1 in the caput and cauda were 65.8 ± 6.6 and 75.83 ± 6.1, P2 in the caput and cauda were 54.2 ± 13.2 and 70 ± 3.2, and P3 in the caput and cauda were 45.8 ± 12.8 and 66.7 ± 4.1. The results of HSD test showed that storage time has significant effect (P<0.01) on sperm motility of Simmental cattle. The conclusion of this study is the longer storage of semen then the value of sperm motility decreases, nevertheless the longer storage of semen does not affect (P<0.05) on the membrane integrity and the pH value of spermatozoa |
