Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengetahui pengaruh radiasi sinar gamma terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kentang varietas Atlantik. 2) Mengetahui pengaruh radiasi sinar gamma terhadap variabel kualitatif tanaman kentang. 3) Mengetahui klon mutan kentang yang berproduksi tinggi pada dataran medium (580 m dpl) setelah perlakuan radiasi sinar gamma. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan April sampai September 2014 di lahan percobaan Desa Gandatapa, Kecamatan Sumbang, Kabupaten Banyumas. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Bersekat (Augmented Design) dengan rancangan dasar Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Perlakuan yang dicoba adalah 4 taraf radiasi sinar gamma, yakni: 0 (kontrol), 30, 35, dan 40 Gy. Variabel yang diamati meliputi saat muncul tunas, persentase tanaman hidup, tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, potensi berbunga, warna daun, bobot segar tanaman, bobot kering tanaman, jumlah umbi, diameter umbi, bobot umbi, warna kulit umbi, dan warna daging umbi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan radiasi sinar gamma 30, 35, dan 40 Gy memberikan hasil yang beragam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kentang di dataran medium. Perlakuan radiasi sinar gamma 30, 35, dan 40 Gy tidak mempengaruhi perubahan warna daun, kulit dan daging umbi, tetapi mempengaruhi tingkat ketahanan terhadap penyakit layu bakteri dan busuk daun. Klon mutan kentang AD1-13 dan AD3-154 mempunyai diameter umbi dan bobot umbi terbaik, serta tahan terhadap penyakit layu bakteri dan busuk daun sehingga berpotensi untuk dikembangkan di dataran medium.

Inggris)This research was aimed to know 1) effects of γ ray radiations on growth and yield of Atlantic potato variety, 2) effects of γ ray radiation on potato qualitative variables, and 3) potato mutant clone producing high yield at medium elevation (580 m asl) after treatment of γ ray radiation. The research was conducted from April until September 2014 at an experimental land of Gandatapa Village, Sumbang Subdistrict, Banyumas Regency. It used an Augmented Design with the basic design was Randomise Completely Block Design (RCBD). The treatments tested were 4 radiation levels of γ rays, namely 0 (control), 30, 35, and 40 Gy. Observed variables were periods of shoot emergency, alive plant percentage, plant hight, stem diameter, leaf quantity, flowering potential, leaf color, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, tuber quantity, tuber skin color, and tuber flesh color. Results of the research performed that γ ray radiations at 30, 35, and 40 Gy gave varied produces on growth and yield of potato planted at medium elevation. Treatments of these γ ray radiations did affect changes of leaf color, skin and flesh of tuber color, but they affected resistance level to bacterial wilt and late blight diseases. The potato mutant clones of AD1-13 and AD3-154 showed the best tuber diameter and weight, and they were also resistant to the bacterial wilt and late blight diseases, so they are potential to inflate at the medium elevation.
