(RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL-ECONOMIC FACTORS AND MOTIVATION OF DAIRY GOAT FARMERS IN BANYUMAS EX-RESIDENCY)
Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 1 Januari sampai 30 Juni 2014. Tujuan penelitian adalah 1. Mengetahui tingkat motivasi peternak kambing perah di wilayah Eks Karesidenan Banyumas, 2. Mengetahui gambaran sosil ekonomi peternak kambing perah, 3. Mengetahui hubungan sosial ekonomi peternak kambing perah meliputi tingkat pendidikan, umur peternak, jumlah anggota keluarga peternak, pengalaman peternak, jumlah ternak, keterdedahan informasi pendapatan usaha dan motivasi beternak kambing perah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey terhadap masing-masing kabupaten. Setiap kabupaten dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling yaitu berdasarkan total kecamatan yang memiliki ternak kambing perah di Kabupaten Banyumas, Cilacap, Purbalinggga, Banjarnegara. Penarikan sampel responden selanjutnya dilakukan secara random sampling yaitu diambil 50 % dari total peternak kambing perah yang ada. Variabel yang diteliti yaitu faktor sosial ekonomi dan motivasi beternak kambing. Pengukuran motivasi berternak dapat dilakukan dengan skala likert (nilai 1-5). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, tingkat motivasi beternak kambing perah masuk kategori sedang dan untuk tingkat faktor sosial ekonomi masuk kategori rendah. Berdasarkan analisis diperoleh hasil bahwa, variabel sosial ekonomi peternak yang berhubungan dengan motivasi beternak kambing perah antara lain keterdedahan informasi (rs=0,500**), pengalaman berternak (rs=0,444**), umur (rs=0,272*), dan pendidikan (rs=0,225*).
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)The research was done from 1st January to 30th June 2014. The purposes of the study are to 1) know the level of motivation of the dairy goat farmers, 2) knowing social-economic background of dairy goat breeders, 3) know the relationship of social-economic dairy goat farmers include level of education, farmer’s age, number of family members of farmers, farming experience, number of livestock, opennes of information and motivation of dairy goat farming. This study used a survey method. Sample of area were taken using purposive sampling method to the area which have dairy goat farming in Banyumas, Cilacap, Purbalingga, and Banjarnegara. Respondents were chosen randomly by 50% of total farmers. The variables studied were social economic factors and motivation of goat farmers. Measurements can be done by implementing motivation likert scale (1-5). The results showed that, level of motivation of dairy goat farmers was moderate and to of social-economic factors was categorized low. Results of study showed that opennes of information, farming experience, age and educational attainment has significant relationship to the motivation of farmers.
