| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan standardisasi mutu ekstrak etanolik batang brotowali (Tinospora crispa) yang meliputi penentuan parameter umum dan spesifik. Penentuan parameter non spesifik meliputi penentuan kadar air, kadar abu, angka kapang dan angka lempeng total. Parameter spesifik yang ditetapkan meliputi organoleptik, kadar sari larut etanol dan air serta profil KLT. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan standardisasi ekstrak etanolik batang brotowali (T. crispa).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanolik batang brotowali dengan karakteristik berupa ekstrak kental berwarna coklat tua, rasa pahit dan berbau khas, mengandung kadar senyawa yang larut dalam air sebesar 45,087±0,636%, kadar senyawa yang larut dalam etanol sebesar 14,194±0,143%, kadar air sebesar 8,118±0,059%, kadar abu sebesar 5,199±0,125%, total cemaran bakteri dan kapang masing-masing kurang dari 1x104 koloni/g serta ekstrak memiliki pola KLT yang menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak mengandung alkaloid dan flavonoid. Ekstrak etanolik batang brotowali telah memenuhi syarat sebagai ekstrak terstandar sehingga diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam identifikasi dan kontrol kualitas ekstrak dalam penggunaanya sebagai bahan obat. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The objectives of the study are to determine the standardisation of the quality of brotowali (Tinospora crispa) stem extract. The study includes determination of non specific and specific parameters. The specific parameters which determined including the organoleptic, rendement, extractive matters which is water soluble and ethanol soluble, also the thin layer chromatography (TLC) profile to identify the existence of alkaloid and flavonoid in the extract. Whereas the non-specific parameters such as the lost of weight, total ash content, total contaminant number of bacteria and fungus were also determined. The result showed that T. crispa stem ethanolic extract was brown viscous extract, bitter taste and characteristic odor. The extract contain water-soluble extractive matters of 45,087±0,636%, ethanol soluble extractive matters of 14,194±0,143%. The TLC profile of ethanolic extract indicates the existence of flavonoids and alkaloids. The total water content was 8,118±0,059%, total ash content 5,199±0,125%, total contaminant number of bacteria and fungus of each is less than 1x104 colony/g. |
