| Judul Artikel | Representasi Rasisme dalam Film "The Help" |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Dalam penelitian ini peneliti berusaha mengkaji penandaan tentang Representasi Rasisme dalam Film The Help. Melalui ide cerita yang dibuat dengan latar Amerika Serikat tahun 1960an film ini mencoba manggambarkan krisis antarras kulit putih dan kulit hitam pada satu wilayah bernama Mississippi. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua teori besar dari kajian semiotika yaitu pemaknaan secara denotatif dan konotatif dari Roland Barthes serta teori tiga tipologi pemaknaan (ikon, indeks, simbol) oleh Charles Sander Peirce. Hasil yang didapat pada penelitian ini adalah bahwa penandaan terkait aspek rasisme dalam film ini sebagian besar digambarkan dalam satu adegan yang memperlihatkan sisi dominan yang menyangkut aspek stereotip, prasangka, kekerasan fisik dan diskriminasi kulit putih terhadap kulit hitam. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | In this research is trying to recite the sign about Racism Representation in The Help movie. Through the idea of the story in Mississippi, United States background at 1960’s this movie capturing the era when race’s crisis between white and black skin is on the fire. This research using two theories of semiotic study from Roland Barthes including denotative and connotative, and three tipologies (icon, index, symbol) from Charles Sander Peirce. The result showed that the signing about the racism representation between white and black skin mostly appeared in the scene from the side which is including stereotype, prejudice, violence and discrimination. |
