| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Kulit buah manggis banyak mengandung senyawa aktif yang berguna untuk kesehatan tubuh manusia. Salah satu senyawa aktif yang terkandung dalam kulit buah manggis adalah senyawa alfa mangostin. Senyawa ini mempunyai kegunaan sebagai antiinflamasi, antidiabetes, dan antioksidan. Kombinasi metode ekstraksi fase padat (solid phase extraction/SPE) dan high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) digunakan pada penelitian ini untuk penentuan alfa mangostin dalam sampel obat herbal. Hasil SPE diperoleh jenis eluen metanol dan jumlah volume sampel sebesar 1 mL. Hasil analisis alfa mangostin dalam sampel obat herbal diperoleh kadar mangostin sebesar 42,36 %.

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Mangosteen rind contains many active compounds that are useful for human health. One of the active compound in mangosteen rind is alpha-mangostin. It has antiinflammatory, antidiabetic, and antioxidant. Combination of solid phase extraction (SPE) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is used in this study for the determination of alpha-mangostin in the sample. Optimized SPE conditions are methanol as eluent and 1 mL. The percentage of alpha-mangostin in the garcia sample is 42.36%.
