KINERJA PRODUKSI DAN REPRODUKSI SAPI JABRES DI KABUPATEN BREBES (PERFORMANCE PRODUCTION AND REPRODUCTION OF JABRES BEEF CATTLES IN BREBES REGENCY)

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kinerja produksi dan reproduksi sapi Jawa - Brebes (Jabres) di wilayah Jawa Tengah khususnya di Kecamatan Bantarkawung dan Kecamatan Ketanggungan Kabupaten Brebes. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survai. Wilayah terpilih adalah Kecamatan Bantarkawung dan Kecamatan Ketanggungan. Sampel dipilih dengan menggunakan assidental sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan uji t dan uji chi square dengan sampel 100 ekor ternak setiap kecamatan diambil 50 ekor ternak. Variabel yang diamati kinerja produksi adalah ukuran statistik vital tubuh, body condition score (BCS) dan kinerja reproduksi adalah umur pertama kali dikawinkan, umur pertama kali beranak dan calving interval. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja produksi dan reproduksi sapi Jabres berbeda tidak nyata (P<0,05). Penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari kedua kecamatan tersebut baik produksi maupun reproduksi memiliki kondisi yang relatif sama.

The aim of the research was to differentiate the performance production and reproduction of Jabres beef cattle in the of region Center Java specifically at Bantarkawung and Ketanggungan, Brebes Regency. The survey was using the method of survey by interviewing Jabres Beef cattle’s farmer, involving female labors. The selected subdistricts were Bantarkawung and Ketanggungan. The samples chosen included accidental sampling and analyzed differentiate t test and test chi square using 100 the head of cattle, every subdistrict was taken 50 heads of cattle. Variable whose observed performance production is vital statistic of the body and body condition score (BCS) and performance reproduction is the age of first given in interbreed, age of first foaled and calving interval. The results of the research showed thatthe performance of the production and reproduction of Jabres Beef Cattle was not significantly different (P<0.05). The research can be concluded that of both subdistrict was production and reproduction the condition of being the same.
