Karya ilmiah ini berjudul “Perilaku Golput di Desa Buniayu Kecamatan Tambak pada Pemilihan Bupati Kabupaten Banyumas Tahun 2013”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami dan menjelaskan perilaku golput dan juga faktor-faktor kontekstual yang mendorong perilaku golput di Desa Buniayu Kecamatan Tambak pada Pilbup Kabupaten Banyumas tahun 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik penetapan informan yang menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan dalam data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Desa Buniayu merupakan desa dengan perolehan angka golput tertinggi pada Pilbup Kabupaten Banyumas Tahun 2013, yaitu dengan total angka golput sebesar 1658 (49,78%) dari total 3331 pemilih. Terdapat beberapa hal yang menyebabkan tingginya angka golput di Desa Buniayu, yaitu golput karena merantau, golput karena sikap pragmatis, golput karena kurangnya sosialisasi dari kandidat, dan golput karena rendahnya kesadaran politik. Rendahnya tingkat ekonomi mendorong masyarakat Desa Buniayu untuk kurang memikirkan hal-hal politik, mereka lebih menempatkan kebutuhan ekonomi sebagai prioritas dibandingkan dengan kebutuhan-kebutuhan lainnya. Akbiatnya, masih terdapat pemilih yang tidak menggunakan hak pilihnya karena lebih memilih bekerja atau hanya kerena malas untung datang ke TPS.

The title of this research is "Non-voting Behavior in Buniayu Village at Tambak Subdistrict on Banyumas Mayoral Election 2013". The purpose of this research is to understand and explain non-voting behavior and also to explain contextual factors that encourage the behavior of non-voters in the Buniayu Village when Banyumas Mayoral Election 2013. This research used qualitative research method with informant determination using purposive sampling technique. Collecting data in this research used indepth interviews and document studies. The results of this research indicate that Buniayu is the village with highest abstentions on Banyumas Mayoral Election 2013, with the total of non-voters is 1658 (49.78%) of 3331 voters. There are many things that cause high rates of abstention in Buniayu Village, that because go work to outside the village, abstentions as pragmatic action, abstentions because low socialization of the candidates, and abstentions because low political consciousness. The high rate of abstentions has relations with economic factors and education. Low levels of economics at Buniayu encourage villagers to not think of things about politics, they are putting the needs of the economy as a priority compared with other needs. As a result, there are many voters who abstain from voting because it prefers to work or just because they are lazy fortunately came to the polls. Other supporting factors are due to the boredom of the election which was considered not give change to a better life.
