	Penelitian ini berjudul “Romance Novel Formula in Twilight Saga Series by Stephenie Meyer”. Peneletian ini tentang cerita percintaan antara Isabella Swan (Bella) and Edward Cullen. Namun, laki-laki yang dia cintai bukanlah manusia. Edward adalah seorang vampir. Tidak hanya vampir yang disebutkan dalam cerita percintaan ini, tetapi juga ada manusia serigala. Berdasarkan pada latar belakang penelitian, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan formula novel percintaan dalam Twilight Saga Series dan juga untuk menemukan apakah novel ini masih mengikuti formula novel percintaan dari Pamela Regis. 
	Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menganalisa data. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel-novel karya Stephenie Meyer yang berjudul Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn yang dianalisis menggunakan formula kesusasteraan dari John G. Cawelti dan formula novel percintaan dari Pamela Regis. 
	Setelah melaksanakan penelitian, peneliti menemukan bahwa dalam ketetapan masyarakat, identitas dan latar belakang sosial tokoh utama pria dan wanita digambarkan dengan kondisi yang berlawanan. Dalam pertemuan, pertemuan pertama antara tokoh utama pria dan wanita tidak langsung memberikan dampak yang baik terhadap hubungan asmara mereka. Dalam rintangan, terdapat tiga rintangan eksternal. Rintangan tersebut yaitu masyarakat yang memiliki kekuatan pada awal cerita, geografi, kekasih palsu. Rintangan internal berasal dari tokoh utama pria, Edward. Dalam daya tarik, terdapat tiga motif yang membuat Edward dan Bella selalu saling tertarik dan tetap bersama. Motif-motif tersebut yaitu perasaan, ketertarikan seksual, dan pengharapan masyarakat. Dalam pernyataan, tokoh utama pria adalah yang pertama kali mengungkapkan perasaannya terhadap tokoh utama wanita. Setelah itu, mereka berdua saling mengungkapkan perasaan. Cerita percintaan ini merupakan cerita yang bertipe cinta pada pandangan pertama. Dalam pokok ritual kematian, istilah “dunia bawah” dan “kematian” terjadi dalam hubungan tokoh utama pria dan wanita. Dalam pengakuan, hal ini terjadi karena tokoh utama wanita menyadari perasaan cintanya dan tokoh utama pria bisa mengatasi rintangan internalnya. Pertunangan dibagi menjadi adegan pelamaran dan penerimaan yang ditunjukan oleh tokoh utama wanita. Kemudian, hasil penelitian yang lainnya, mengenai analisis secara umum, peneliti menemukan bahwa Twilight Saga Series karya Stephenie Meyer mengikuti delapan peristiwa cerita dari Pamela Regis.

	This research is entitled “Romance Novel Formula in Twilight Saga Series by Stephenie Meyer”. It is about romance story between Isabella Swan (Bella) and Edward Cullen. Unfortunately, the man that she loves the most is not human being. He is a vampire. It is not only vampire, werewolf is also mentioned in this romance story. Based on the background of the research, the aims of this research are to describe the romance novel formula in Twilight Saga Series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn) and to find out whether these novels follow romance novel formula from Pamela Regis. 
	This research uses qualitative method to analyze the data. The data source of this research is Stephenie Meyer’s novels entitled Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn that are analyzed using literary formula by John G. Cawelti and romance novel formula by Pamela Regis.

After conducting the research, the researcher finds that in society defined, the identity and social background of hero and heroine are presented as an opposite. In the meeting, the first meeting between the hero and heroine, it does not directly give a good impact for their relationship. In the barrier, there are two kind of barrier, external and internal. There are three kinds of external barrier found. Those are the society in power at the beginning of the book, geography, and false hero. The internal barrier, it comes from the hero, Edward. In the attraction, there are three motives that keep Edward and Bella attracted each other and keeps them stay together. Those are feeling, sexual chemistry, and society expectation. In declaration, it is the hero who confesses his feeling toward the heroine for the first time. After that, both of the hero and heroine declare their feeling. This romance story uses love at the first sight type. In point of ritual death, the term of “underworld” and “death” happen in the hero and heroine relationship. In the recognition, this condition is fulfilled because the heroine realizes her true feeling and the hero is able to overcome his internal barrier. The betrothal splits into proposal scene declared by the hero (it happens twice) and acceptance scene showed by the heroine. Then, the other result, about general analysis, the researcher finds that Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga Series follows the eight narrative events by Pamela Regis.
