KERENTANAN WILAYAH PESISIR BERDASARKAN KOMPOSISI SEDIMEN DI PERAIRAN SEMARANG

Skripsi ini berjudul “Kerentanan Wilayah Pesisir Berdasarkan Komposisi Sedimen Di Perairan Semarang”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kerentanan wilayah Pesisir Semarang terhadap permasalahan lingkungan dari kondisi fisik (dengan sudut pandang faktor alam dan aktivitas manusia), serta menginterpretasikan tingkat kerentanan sedimentasi di wilayah Pesisir Semarang berdasarkan komposisi dan mineral sedimennya. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di Perairan Semarang dan dianalisis di Laboratorium Geologi Laut P2O-LIPI, Jakarta selama bulan November-Desember 2013. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei, dan pengambilan sampel sedimen menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Analisis sampel sedimen dari 3 stasiun mengacu skala Wentworth dan Diagram Ternary untuk mengetahui tipe dan ukuran butir sedimen. Komposisi sedimen secara visual dan analisis X-Ray Diffraction digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis mineral dan non mineral. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Aktivitas manusia dalam penggunaan dan konversi lahan berkontribusi terhadap kerentanan wilayah Pesisir Semarang terutama faktor sedimentasi. Interpretasi tingkat kerentanan sedimentasi di wilayah Pesisir Semarang, yaitu: tingkat kerentanan rendah sampai dengan sedang berlokasi di transisi Banjir Kanal Barat; tingkat kerentanan sedang sampai dengan tinggi berlokasi di transisi Banjir Kanal Timur; tingkat kerentanan tinggi berada di Perairan Utara Semarang. Adapun tingkat kerentanan sedimentasi tersebut berdasarkan jenis ukuran butir, komposisi sedimen, dan penggunaan lahan.

This research entitled "The Vulnerability of the Coastal Area Based on the Sediment Bed Composition In Semarang Waters". The aims of this research were to identify the vulnerability of Semarang coastal area against to the environmental problems based on physical condition view (natural factors and human activities), and to interpretate the vulnerability level of sedimentation in Semarang coastal area based on the sediment composition and mineral. Sample of sediment were taken in the Semarang Waters and were analyzed in the Marine Geology P2O-LIPI Jakarta laboratory during November-December 2013. Survey method was used in this research and sediment sampling were using purposive sampling method. The analysis of sediment which collected from 3 different stations were done using Wentworth Scale and Ternary Diagram, in order to investigate sediment type and grain size. Visual sediment composition and X-Ray Diffraction analysis were used to identify the type of sediment mineral and non-mineral. The results showed that the human activities such as the land used and land conversion contributed to Semarang coastal area vulnerability, mainly on sedimentation factors. Interpretation of Semarang coastal area vulnerability levels showed that: low to moderate vulnerability level was found in Banjir Kanal Barat transition; moderate to high vulnerability level was found in Banjir Kanal Timur transition; and the high vulnerability level was found in the northern Semarang Waters. The vulnerability levels based on the type of sediment grain size, composition, and land use.
