Penelitian berjudul Produksi Telur Dua Strain Ayam Niaga Petelur Pada Tiga Periode Umur Bertelur. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Maret 2014 sampai April 2014. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 576 ekor ayam niaga. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah strain ayam (s) terdiri atas strain A dan B. Faktor kedua adalah periode umur bertelur (p) terdiri atas awal, puncak dan akhir. Variabel yang diamati adalah hen day average dan bobot telur serta data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dan dilanjutkan uji beda nyata jujur. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada interaksi (P>0,05) antara strain ayam dengan periode umur bertelur terhadap hen day average. Strain berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap hen day average. Periode umur bertelur berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap hen day average. Hasil analisis variansi juga menunjukkan bahwa ada interaksi (P<0,05) antara strain ayam dengan periode umur bertelur terhadap bobot telur. Strain tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot telur. Periode umur bertelur berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap bobot telur. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa hen day average ayam niaga petelur rendah pada awal periode dan meningkat hingga puncak tertentu, kemudian akan turun kembali secara bertahap hingga akhir periode. Bobot telur ayam niaga petelur meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya periode umur bertelur, namun bobot telur strain A lebih tinggi pada saat awal dan puncak periode, sedangkan bobot telur strain B lebih tinggi pada saat akhir periode

A research entitled “Egg Production of Two Strain Commercial Laying Chicken in three age of laying period. This research was conducted from March 2014 to April 2014. The materials were 576 commercial laying chicken. The research method was experimental by using completly randomized factorial design with strain (s) as the first factor which were strain A and B. Age of laying period (p) as the second factor which were begining,peak,and end. Observed variables were hen day average (HDA) and egg weight. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by honestly significant difference test. The results showed that there was no interaction (P>0.05) between strains of chicken with age of laying period on hen day average. Strain significantly affected (P<0,05) hen day average. Age of laying period highly significantly affected (P<0,01) hen day average. The results showed that there was interaction (P<0.05) between strains of chicken with age of laying period on egg weight, strain non significantly affected (P>0,05) egg weight, and age of laying period highly significantly affected (P<0,01) egg weight. Research showed that hen day average commercial laying chicken low at the beginning of period and increased to a certain peak, then gradually decreased to the end of the period. Egg weight of commercial laying chicken strain A and B increased in line with the increasing period of laying but egg weight strain A on begining dan peak periode was higher than strain B but in the end of period egg weight strain B higher than strain A.
