Penelitian ini memiliki latar belakang masalah masih banyaknya guru yang memiliki kinerja kurang optimal. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor kepemimpinan, motivasi, dan kompetensi profesional terhadap kinerja guru SMP negeri di Kabupaten Banjarnegara serta untuk menganalisis variabel yang berpengaruh dominan terhadap kinerja guru SMP negeri di Kabupaten Banjarnegara.
Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah guru yang terdiri dari PNS dan CPNS pada 57 SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Banjarnegara yaitu sejumlah 1.231 orang, sedangkan sampel ditetapkan sejumlah 102 orang menggunakan disproportional  random sampling. Alat analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru adalah kepemimpinan dalam hal visi, pengambilan resiko, serta dalam menanamkan harga diri di kalangan bawahan. Faktor kepemimpinan yang lain yaitu dalam hal energi dan keteguhan hati, menantang dan mendorong dan kesetiaan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru. Selain itu variabel yang berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru adalah kompetensi profesional, sedangkan variabel motivasi baik intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik tidak berpengaruh.

The background problem of this research is on the  number of teachers who have low performance. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the influence of leadership, motivation, and professional competence on the performance of junior high school teachers in the district as well as to analyze the variables Banjarnegara a dominant influence on the performance of junior high school teachers in  Banjarnegara regency.
The population is made up of teachers and civil servants employess in 57 Junior high  Schools in the  Banjarnegara regency  that some 1231 people, while the sample set at 102 people using disproportional random sampling. The analysis tool employed  is multiple linear regression.
The results showed that the leadership of the principal factors that affect the performance of teachers is the leadership in terms of vision, risk taking, and in instilling pride among subordinates. Another factor is the leadership in energy and courage, challenge and encourage and loyalty does not affect the performance of teachers. Besides the variables that affect the performance of the teacher's professional competence, while variable both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation had no effect.
