Penggunaan Minyak Ikan Lemuru Sebagai Sumber Omega-3 Dalam Ransum Terhadap Kadar Lemak Dan Kolesterol Kuning Telur Ayam Arab

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan ransum yang dicampur minyak ikan lemuru sebagai sumber omega-3. Materi yang digunakan adalah Ayam Arab betina umur 20 minggu sebanyak 60 ekor. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimental in vivo dan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan empat perlakuan dan ulangan sebanyak lima kali dan setiap ulangan terdiri atas 3 ekor ayam. Perlakuan yang diuji adalah penggunaan pakan yang mengandung minyak ikan lemuru dengan R0 (tanpa pemberian minyak ikan lemuru), R1 (pemberian minyak ikan lemuru, 1,5%), R2 (pemberian minyak ikan lemuru, 3%), dan R3 (pemberian minyak ikan lemuru, 4,5% ). Peubah yang diukur adalah kadar lemak dan kolesterol kuning telur ayam arab. Data di analisis menggunakan analisis variansi. Hasil analisis variansii menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pakan yang mengandung minyak ikan lemuru dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata (P<0.01) terhadap kolesterol kuning telur ayam arab. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah penggunaan ransum yang mengandung minyak ikan lemuru sebagai sumber omega - 3 pada level 1,5 % dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol kuning telur ayam arab dan sampai level 4,5% menghasilkan kadar lemak kuning telur yang relatif sama (25,266-27,155%).

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the use of feed that was added with menhaden fish oil as the source of omega-3 fatty acid. Materials used were female Arabic Chicken of 20 weeks old as many as 60 heads. The study was done by using in vivo experimental method and Completely Randomized Design, with four treatments and five repetations. Each repetation consisted of three chickens. The treatments that were tested were the uses of feed that contained of menhaden fish oil with R0 (without menhaden fish oil), R1 (plus 1.5% menhaden fish oil), R2 (plus 3% menhaden fish oil), and R3 (plus 4,5% menhaden fish oil). Variables that were measured were the concentration of lipid and egg yolk cholestrol of arabic chicken. Data were analized by using variance analysis. The results of variance analysis showsed that the use of feed that containted menhaden fish oil did not affect significantly (P>0.05) on the concentration of lipid and cholesterol of arabic chicken. The conclusion of this study it, feed that contains menhaden fish oil as a source of fatty acid at the level of 1.5 % can reduce the concentration of egg yolk cholesterol of arabic chicken and until level 4,5% can produce concentration of egg yolk lipid were relatively similar (25,266-27,155%).
