Penelitian ini berjudul “IDENTIFIKASI POTENSI DAN KLASIFIKASI PERTUMBUHAN SEKTOR EKONOMI DI KOTA BOGOR”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi sektor dan subsektor ekonomi basis, sektor dan subsektor ekonomi potensial dan klasifikasi pertumbuhan sektor perekonomian di Kota Bogor. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat analisis  Location Quotient (LQ), Model Rasio Pertumbuhan (MRP), Overlay dan Klassen Typology.
Berdasarkan hasil analisis LQ dari tahun 2005 sampai tahun 2012 yang teridentifikasi sebagai sektor basis adalah sektor listrik, gas dan air bersih, sektor bangunan, sektor perdagangan, hotel dan restoran, sektor pengangkutan dan komunikasi, sektor keuangan persewaan dan jasa perusahaan serta sektor jasa-jasa. Jika dilihat per subsektor, maka terdapat 12 subsektor basis di Kota Bogor, yaitu subsektor gas kota, subsektor air bersih, subsektor perdagangan besar dan eceran, subsektor hotel, subsektor restoran, subsektor pengangkutan, subsektor komunikasi, subsektor bank, subsektor lembaga keuangan tanpa bank, subsektor sewa bangunan, subsektor jasa perusahaan dan subsektor swasta. Berdasarkan hasil analisis Model Rasio Pertumbuhan (MRP) menunjukkan bahwa sektor yang merupakan sektor kompetitif dengan adalah subsektor lembaga keuangan tanpa bank. Berdasarkan hasil analisis Overlay yang merupakan penggabungan dua kriteria, yaitu kriteria pertumbuhan yang diperoleh dari hasil MRP dan kriteria kontribusi yang diperoleh dari hasil analisis rata-rata Location Quotient (LQ) selama periode 2005-2012, menunjukkan bahwa subsektor air bersih, subsektor hotel, subsektor lembaga keuangan tanpa bank dan subsektor sewa bangunan merupakan subsektor ekonomi potensial di Kota Bogor. Hasil analisis Klassen Typology menunjukkan bahwa subsektor air bersih, subsektor lembaga keuangan tanpa bank dan subsektor sewa bangunan  merupakan subsektor yang maju dan tumbuh dengan pesat di Kota Bogor.
Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah pemerintah daerah Kota Bogor sebaiknya lebih memperhatikan perkembangan dari sektor-sektor yang termasuk sektor potensial. Selain itu, pemerintah daerah juga dituntut untuk bisa lebih mengoptimalkan sektor potensial tersebut, agar mampu menarik sektor lain yang belum potensial agar dapat menjadi sektor yang potensial. Perlu dilakukan upaya seperti menciptakan iklim investasi yang kondusif, kemudahan birokrasi serta peningkatan sarana dan prasarana sehingga mampu meningkatkan minat investor untuk menanamkan modalnya di Kota Bogor.

This research is entitled “The Identification of Potency And Classification of Economic Sector Growth In Bogor City 2005-2012 Period”. The purpose of this research is to identify the base sectosr and subsectors, the potential sectors and subsectors, and the classification of economic sector growth in Bogor City. The analysis methods used in this research are the Location Qoutient (LQ) analysis, Growth Ratio Model, Overlay and Klassen Typology.
Based on the result of Location Quotient analysis from 2005 until 2012, those which are identified as base sectors  are electricity, gas and water supply, building, trade, hotel and restaurant, transportation and communication, finance, rental, and business service, and services. There are 12 base subsectors in Bogor City: gas, water supply, wholesale and retail trading, hotel, restaurant, transportation, communication, banking, other financial intermediaries, building rental, business service and  private. Based on the results of the overlay analysis is the combination of the two criteria, which are the growth criteria obtained from the result of Growth Rasio Model and contribution criteria obtained from the result of the average Location Quotient analysis during 2005-2012 period, shows that water supply, hotel, other financial intermediaries and building rental are the potential economic subsectors in Bogor City. The result of Klassen Typology analysis is water supply, other financial intermediaries and building rental are developed and grew rapidly subsectors in Bogor City.
The implication of this research is the local governments of Bogor City should pay more attention to the development of sectors including sector potential. In addition, local governments are also required to be able to optimize the potential sectors, in order to be able to attract other sectors which have not been potential yet to be a potential sector. Such effort need to be done to create a conducive investment climate, ease bureaucracy and improving facilities and infrastructure so as to increase the interest of investors to invest in the Bogor City.
