Salah satu faktor lingkungan yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan budidaya tanaman bayam adalah media tanam (tanah). Bayam dapat ditingkatkan produksinya dengan penggunaan kotoran ternak. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menentukan: 1) pengaruh lima jenis kotoran ternak (sapi, kuda, kerbau, kambing dan ayam) terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bayam  hijau serta bayam  merah, 2) jenis kotoran ternak terbaik pada budidaya bayam hijau dan bayam merah. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari dua faktor dengan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu jenis tanaman bayam yaitu: bayam hijau dan bayam merah, Faktor kedua jenis kotoran ternak yaitu: kotoran ternak sapi, kotoran ternak kerbau, kotoran ternak kuda, kotoran ternak kambing dan kotoran ternak ayam. Hasil pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan uji F, kemudian dilanjutkan Uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kelima jenis kotoran ternak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kedua jenis bayam. Kotoran ternak sapi pada kedua jenis bayam menghasilkan berat tajuk segar terbaik, kotoran ternak kuda menghasilkan luas daun terbaik pada bayam hijau dan kotoran ternak kerbau menghasilkan tinggi tanaman terbaik pada bayam hijau.

One of the environmental factors that affect the success of the spinach crop is planting media (soil). Spinach production can be increased with the use of manure The research is aimed to determine: 1) the effect of five types of animal manure (cow, horse, buffalo, goat, and chicken) on the growth and yield of green spinach and red spinach, 2) the best type of manure on green spinach and red spinach cultivation. Research used Randomized Block Design wite two factors and three replications. The first factor were the types of spinach. green spinach and red spinach. The second factor were the type of manure. cow manure, buffalo manure, horse manure, goat manure, and chicken manure. Results were analyzed by F test, then followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the five types of animal manure affected on growth and yield of two types of spinach. Cow manure produced the best canopy fresh weight on the two types of spinach, horse manure produced the best leaf area on green spinach and buffalo manure produced the best plant height on green spinach.
