PATOGENISITAS Bacillus spp. TERHADAP LARVA Helicoverpa armigera

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengkaji patogenisitas Bacillus spp. terhadap larva H. armigera, (2) mengetahui instar larva H. armigera yang peka terhadap Bacillus spp. (3) menentukan isolat Bacillus yang unggul sebagai agensia pengendalian pada 3 instar hama H. armigera. (4) Mengetahui patogenisitas Bacillus spp. sebagai agensia pengendali peletakan dan fertilitas telur H. armigera. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Penelitian terdiri dari dua percobaan. Percobaan pertama uji patogenisitas bakteri. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok faktorial. Faktor pertama terdiri dari lima perlakuan (bakteri Bacillus B8, Bacillus B11, Bacillus thuringiensis, insektisida kimia (profenofos), dan kontrol) dan faktor kedua adalah instar larva (instar 2, 3, dan 4). Percobaan diulang 3 kali. Percobaan kedua adalah pengaruh aplikasi Bacillus spp terhadap peletakan dan fertilitas telur. Percobaan ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Perlakuan terdiri dari lima perlakuan termasuk kontrol (bakteri Bacillus B8, Bacillus B11, Bacillus thuringiensis, insektisida kimia (profenofos), dan kontrol. Percobaan diulang 5 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Bacillus B8, Bacillus B11, dan Bacillus thuringiensis dapat mematikan semua instar H. armigera hingga 28,35 persen dan mengurangi umur larva 1 hari. Bakteri Bacillus tidak dapat menekan peletakan telur. Walaupun demikian, bakteri tersebut mampu menekan fertilitas telur hingga 44,0 persen.

The goals of this research were to (1) assess the pathogenicity of Bacillus spp. against larvae of H. armigera, (2) determine the sensitive of larvae to Bacillus spp. (3) determine the best isolate of Bacillus as a promising pest control agent of three instar H. armigera, (4) determine the pathogenicity of Bacillus spp as pest control agentsin eggs laying and fertility.This research was carried in the Laboratory of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, University Jenderal Soedirman. The study consisted of two experiments. The first experiment was test of pathogenicity on larvae. This experiment used randomized block design (RBD) factorial. The first factor consisted of five treatments (Bacillus B8, Bacillus B11, Bacillus thuringiensis, chemical insecticide, and control (water) and the second factor consisted of 3 instars 2, 3, and 4. The experiment was replicated 3 times. The second experiment was effect of application of Bacillus spp on eggs laying and fertility. This experiment used randomized block design (RBD) with 5 treatmentsincluding control (Bacillus B8, Bacillus B11, Bacillus thuringiensis, chemical insecticide and control). The experiment was replicated 5 times. Results showed Bacillus B8, Bacillus B11, and Bacillus thuringiensis were able to kill larvae all instars up to 28.35 percent, and decrease their ages of the larvae one day. The bacteria also were not able to suppress egg laying by adults. However, they were able to suppress the eggs fertility, up to 44.0 percent.
