SINTESIS DIHIDROKSI DIFENIL TRIKLOROETANA MELALUI REAKSI ANTARA FENOL DENGAN KLORAL HIDRAT

DDT merupakan insektisida organoklorin yang ampuh dan murah, sehingga penggunaannya cukup luas. Disamping manfaat dan kegunaannya yang luas, DDT ternyata dapat menimbulkan berbagai penyakit yang diakibatkan sifat toksiknya. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mensintesis senyawa turunan DDT dan diharapkan diperoleh senyawa baru yang mempunyai aktivitas insektisida tetapi memiliki toksisitas lebih rendah dibandingkan DDT. Hasil spektrofotometer FT-IR menunjukkan pita serapan pada 3209 cm-1 yang merupakan pita getaran OH, serapan pada 1365-1180 cm-1 yang merupakan finger print OH dan serapan pada 817 cm-1 yang merupakan serapan substituen para. Hasil spektrofotometer 1H-NMR menunjukkan adanya H multiplet aril tersubstitusi p,p' pada δ 6,8 dan δ 7,5 serta singlet dari OH posisi p,p' pada δ 8,5. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa senyawa hasil sintesis adalah dihidroksi difenil trikloroetana

DDT is an organochlorine insecticide that is effective and inexpensive, so that its use is quite extensive. Besides the extensive benefits and usefulness, DDT was found to cause a variety of diseases caused by toxic properties. The aim of the research to synthesize the derivative DDT compound and hoped that there would be obtained such a new compound that has insecticidal activity but the toxicity is lower than DDT.The results of FT-IR spectrophotometer showed an absorption band at 3209 cm-1 which is OH vibrational bands, absorptions at 1365-1180 cm-1 which is a finger print of OH group and absorption at 817 cm-1 which is the absorption of para substituent . The results of H-NMR spectrophotometer showed multiplet H of aryl groups was substitued p,p' at δ 6.8 and δ 7.5 and H singlet of the OH position p,p' at δ 8.5. The identification result showed that the compound that synthesized is dihydroxy diphenyl trichloroethane.
