	Penelitian yangg berjudul Penurunan Nilai-nilai Bushido yang Terefleksi dalam Tokoh Utama Novel No Longer Human Karya Osamu Dazai Versi Terjemahan oleh Donald Kenee ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan Yozo sebagai tokoh utama meninggalkan Bushido sebagai standar moral bangsa Jepang. Selain itu, tujuan lainnya adalah untuk menjelaskan kondisi moral bangsa Jepang setelah feudalisme berakhir.
	Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menganalisa objek penelitian. Data utama diambil dari novel No Longer Human karya Osamu Dazai. Sedangkan data pendukung diambil dari beberapa buku, artikel, tulisan, dan website yang mendukung data utama. Data-data yang tidak diperlukan dalam penelitian ini tidak digunakan.
Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penurunan nilai bushido yang dilakukan Yozo dikelompokan ke dalam lima hal. Pertama, Yozo tidak setia kepada kaisarnya karena pada waktu itu banyak para politisi yang melakukan korupsi dan kaisar tidak mampu mengendalikan situasi politik yang tidak stabil. Kedua, Yozo adalah seorang pembohong dan tidak mempunyai keikhlasan hati dalam berbakti kepada ayahnya, hal ini karena ayah Yozo terlalu sibuk sehingga tidak punya cukup waktu untuk berkomunikasi dengannnya. Ketiga, Yozo adalah seorang suami yang tidak setia dan tidak sopan dalam memperlakukan istri-istrinya karena seringnya Yozo melakukan prostitusi di klub malam. Keempat, Yozo tidak mempunyai kebajikan kepada saudaranya karena hubungan mereka yang tidak terlalu dekat dan krisis keuangan yang dialami Yozo. Yang terakhir, Yozo adalah orang yang tidak jujur dalam berteman dan bermasyarakat, karena menurutnya masyarakat hanyalah kumpulan individu yang saling menipu satu sama lain. Selain itu Yozo telah memilih orang yang salah dalam berteman, teman yang dipilih Yozo adalah teman yang membawa kehidupannya menjadi lebih buruk.

	The research entitled “The Absence of Bushido values as Reflected in the Main Character of Osamu Dazai’s No Longer Human Translation Version by Donald Kenee” is aimed to analyze the factors that make Yozo, the main character of this novel, leaves Bushido as the Japanese moral value. Furthermore, it is aimed to explain Japanese moral condition in this novel after feudalism era.
	The researcher applies descriptive qualitative method to analyze the object of the research. The primary data of this research is a novel which is entitled No Longer Human  from Osamu Dazai. The secondary data were taken from books, articles, essays, and website pages that support the primary data. The data which are not appropriate with this research are reduced.
 In this research, the absence of bushido is divided into five parts. First Yozo is disloyal to the emperor because he feels disappointed to some dishonest politicians and to the emperor's disabilty in controling the unstable political situation. Second, Yozo is a dishonest child and does not have veracity and sincerity in doing his father's instruction. It is because of his father's business that make them have no enough time to communicate each other. Third, Yozo is disloyal and impolite to his two wives because he often does prostitution. Fourth, Yozo does not have benevolence toward his brother because their brotherhood is not close and because Yozo is not able solving financial problem. The last, Yozo is a dishonest person in making friendship and communicating with society because he thinks that people in society also deceive each other. In conducting a friendship, Yozo chooses wrong friends who have brought him to a bad life and all Yozo does are not in line with Bushido values.
