Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk : (1) mengetahui pelaksanaan program CSR PLTU Karangkandri (2) mengetahui dampak lingkungan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat dari pelaksanaan CSR di PLTU Karangkandri, Kesugihan, Cilacap. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik penentuan informan adalah teknik purposive sampling dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam (indepth interview), observasi dan dokumentasi. Sasaran utama adalah masyarakat dan tokoh masyarakat Desa Karangkandri serta sasaran pendukungnya adalah manajer atau pegawai PT. S2P dan Badan Lingkungan Hidup (BLH) Cilacap. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di PLTU Karangkandri Kecamatan Kesugihan Kabupaten Cilacap untuk program CSR tahun 2012. Metode analisis data menggunakan Analisis Interaktif Miles dan Huberman dan validitas data menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa keberadaan perusahaan PLTU PT. Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) di Kabupaten Cilacap khususnya di Desa Karangkandri yang merupakan salah satu daerah terdekat membawa dampak, yaitu dampak negatif dari segi lingkungan, seperti debu, kebisingan, jalan rusak dan kualitas air serta udara menurun. Sedangkan dari segi sosial ekonomi masyarakat, seperti kecemburuan sosial, perekonomian belum stabil dan kehidupan masyarakat masih bersifat tradisional serta adanya pengaruh budaya negatif yang dibawa masuk oleh para pendatang seperti berfoya-foya. Dampak positifnya, seperti peluang kerja, peluang usaha dan perubahan pendapatan dan harga tanah menjadi naik. Masyarakat menilai bahwa CSR yang dilaksanakan PLTU mendapat tanggapan positif. Namun, masih banyak yang menilai bahwa CSR yang dilaksanakan belum tepat sasaran dan tepat guna karena bantuan yang diberikan tidak merata di daerah terdekat yaitu Desa Karangkandri. Implikasinya bahwa PLTU masih perlu mendapatkan perbaikan dan kontrol pengawasan, baik itu dari pihak pemeritah desa atau dari pihak BLH. Semua pelaksanaan CSR harus melibatkan masyarakat agar tercipta keharmonisasian dan pembangunan yang berkelanjutan yang akan memberikan citra yang positif dari stakeholders.

The purpose of this research is to: (1) find out the  program implementation of CSR PLTU Karangkandri (2) find  out the  impact to the environment and prosperity of  society from the implementation of CSR  in PLTU Karangkandri, Kesugihan, Cilacap. This research uses the research method of descriptive qualitative by technique of informant selection it is the technique of purposive sampling and technique of data collection uses in depth  interview,  observation and documentation. main target is the society and public figure in the village of Karangkandri and  supporting target is the manager or official of PT. S2P and Life Environment Board (BLH) in Cilacap. Research location is conducted at PLTU Karangkandri, Sub district of  Kesugihan in the Regency of Cilacap for the program of CSR in 2012.  Method of data analysis uses the Interactive Analysis Miles and Huberman and data validity uses the technique of triangulation. The result of research shows  that the existence of the company at PLTU PT. Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) in the Regency of Cilacap especially in the Village of Karangkandri that is  one of the closest place with the impact, it is the  negative impact from the environment side such as dust, noise, damage road, and air and water  quality decrease. And from the social and economy side of society still has traditional characteristic and there is the negative culture influence that are brought  by the new comer like having fun act. The positive impact is such as job chance, business chance, and the income change and high of land value. The society asses that CSR in the PLTU give the positive respond. But, there still many of society who asses that CSR in PLTU has not achieved the main target and effectively because the assistance is not entirely distributed well in the closest area in Village of Karangkandri. Its implication that PLTU still needs to obtain the repairmen and controlling  whether  from the side of village government or BLH side. All the implementation of CSR must involves the society to create the harmony and sustainability development that will give the positive image from stakeholders.
