Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai 2 April 2013 sampai dengan 21 April 2013 di Balai Inseminasi Buatan Lembang Bandung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui interval penampungan semen 72 jam dan 96 jam terhadap volume semen, konsentrasi, dan motilitas spermatozoa pejantan sapi FH dan mengetahui perbedaan interval penampungan semen 72 jam dan 96 jam terhadap volume semen, konsentrasi, dan motilitas spermatozoa pejantan sapi FH.
Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalah sapi perah FH umur 6 tahun sebanyak 5 ekor, dengan kisaran berat badan 850 – 950 kilogram. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey. Masing-masing sapi dicatat produksi semennya dengan interval penampungan waktu 72 jam dan 96 jam selama dua bulan yaitu bulan Juli dan Agustus 2012, metode analisis menggunakan uji t.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pejantan sapi FH yang dikoleksi dengan interval 72 jam menghasilkan rataan volume semen, konsentrasi, dan motilitas spermatozoa secara berturut-turut sebesar 8,064  ± 3ml, 1077,95 ± 505,615 x 106, dan 68,42%. Sedangkan pejantan sapi FH yang dikoleksi dengan interval 96 jam menghasilkan rataan volume semen, konsentrasi, dan motilitas spermatozoa secara berturut-turut sebesar 7,75± 2,3495 ml, 1014,19 ± 265,3397x 106,64,52%. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa antara interval 72 jam dengan 96 jam diperoleh hasil volume semen, konsentrasi, dan motilitas spermatozoa yang tidak berbeda. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, interval penampungan semen dengan waktu 72 jam dan 96 jam menghasilkan volume semen, konsentrasi, dan motilitas spermatozoa yang sama.

The research was Held from April 2nd, 2013 until April 21st, 2013 at the Centra of Artificial Insemination Lembang, Bandung. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of 72-hour and-96 hour semen collection interval on semen volume, concentration, and the motility of sperm cells of FH bulls.
The materials used in this research were six-year old FH bulls as many as 5 heads, with a weight range between 850-950 kg. The method used was a survey. Each semen production was recorded at intervals of 72-hour and 96-hour during two months from July to August, 2012. The method of analysis was t-test.
The results showed that FH bull semen that were collected at intervals of 72-hour produced the average values of semen volume, concentration, and the motility of sperm cells as much as 8.064 ± 3 ml, 1077.95 ± 505.615 x 106, and 68.42% respectively. While FH bulls semen collected at the interval of 96-hour produced average values  of semen volume, concentration, and the sperm cells motility as much as 7.75± 2.3495 ml, 1014.19 ± 265,3397x 106, and 64.52% respectively. The results of t-test showed that between 72-hour with 96-hour interval were obtained the result of semen volume, concentration, and motility of sperm cells that was not different. The conclusion of the research showed that semen volume, consentrations, and motility of sperm cells, the 72-hour semen collection interval showed similar values compared to those of 96-hour semen collection.
