KAJIAN PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN TOMAT (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) PADA BERBAGAI KOMPOSISI MEDIA TANAM HIDROPONIK

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) pengaruh komposisi media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat secara hidroponik, 2) pengaruh jenis bahan media tanam pada komposisi tunggal dan kombinasi terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat secara hidroponik, dan 3) mendapatkan media tanam yang memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil tomat tertinggi. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor media tanam yang terdiri dari 10 macam dan 3 ulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam kontras orthogonal, apabila signifikan dilanjutkan uji rentang berganda Duncan (URGD). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komposisi media tanam rata-rata tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat. Jenis bahan media tanam pada komposisi tunggal dan kombinasi berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat. Media pasir menghasilkan bobot buah per tanaman tertinggi.

This research aims to know 1) the influence of growing media composition on the growth and yield of tomato plant in hydroponic, 2 ) the influence of the type of growing media material in combination and single composition on the growth and yield of tomato plant in hydroponic, and 3) growing media that give the highest growth and yield of tomato. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 10 types of treatment and 3 replication. Data were analyzed by orthogonal contrasts analysis, when it’s significant, it was continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that average growing media composition did not have an affect on the growth and yield of tomato plant. The type of growing media material on a combined and single composition affected on growth and yield of tomato plant. Sand media gave the highest weight of fruit per plant.
