POTENSI SAMPAH DAN STRATEGI PENINGKATAN PARTISIPASI SISWA DALAM PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH DI SMAN 2 PURWOKERTO DAN SMAN BANYUMAS

Secara kuantitas dan kualitas, sampah cenderung berkaitan potensi dan masalah. Potensi yang dimaksud dapat menggunakan sistem daur ulang, sehingga sampah kembali dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kebutuhan sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi kuantitas sampah, potensi jenis dan jumlah individu lalat, mengetahui partisipasi siswa dalam pengelolaan sampah di SMAN 2 Purwokerto; Mengetahui potensi sampah, potensi lalat dan partisipasi siswa dalam pengelolaan sampaqh di SMAN Banyumas; Menganalisis perbedaan potensi sampah, potensi lalat dan partisipasi siswa di SMAN 2 Purwokerto dan SMAN Banyumas; Serta membuat rancangan strategi peningkatan partisipasi siswa dalam pengelolaan sampah di SMAN 2 Purwokerto dan SMAN Banyumas. Sampel penelitian ada dua yaitu pertama adalah tumpukan sampah yang ada di SMAN 2 Purwokerto dan SMAN Banyumas, kedua adalah siswa SMAN 2 Purwokerto dan SMAN Banyumas. Tumpukan sampah diambil secara keseluruhan setiap tiga hari sekali untuk mendapatkan data potensi sampah dan potensi lalat, sedangkan siswa menggunakan sample random sampling tiap kelas tiap tingkatan satu kelas untuk mendapatkan data partisipasi. Potensi sampah dengan metoda ditimbang, potensi lalat dengan meletakan umpan makanan dan jaring di tumpukan sampah, dan pertisipasi siswa dengan menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, uji t, dan analisis SWOT. Potensi kuantitas sampah di SMAN 2 Purwokerto adalah 1.713 kg, potensi lalat 190 ekor, dan tingkat partisipasinya siswa 57,1%. Potensi kuantitas sampah di SMAN Banyumas 1.371 kg, potensi lalat 109 ekor, dan partisipasi siswa 54%. Ke dua sekolah mempunyai kecenderungan yang sama yaitu partisipasi siswa yang sedang, potensi sampah yang tinggi, dan potensi lalat yang tinggi. Partisipasi siswa yang sedang semestinya dapat menekan kuantitas sampah dan potensi lalat menjadi kecil, tetapi ini tidak terjadi karena partisipasi siswa tidak ada pengawasan bagi yang membuang sampah tidak tepat, belum ada pengelolaan sampah setelah di TPS, serta belum dilakukan pemisahan sampah organik dan non organik baik di tempat sampah depan kelas maupun di TPS, terutama di SMAN 2 Purwokerto. Strategi peningkatan partisipasi siswa dalam pengelolaan sampah di SMAN 2 Purwokerto dilakukan melalui (1) pembentukan ekskul pecinta alam, (2) praktek pengelolaan sampah secara praktis (3), gerakan sehari tanpa sampah dalam sepekan, dan (4) pemisahan sampah menurut jenisnya secara konsisten. Rancangan strategi partisipasi siswa SMAN Banyumas dilakukan melalui (1) optimalisasi ekskul pecinta alam, (2) pengadaan tempat sampah organik dan non organik tiap ruangan, (3) praktek pengelolaan sampah secara praktis, (4) gerakan sehari tanpa sampah dalam sepekan, serta (5) ketersediaan TPS yang membedakan sampah organik dan non organik.

Garbage tends to be related to the potency and problem quantitatively and qualitatively. The potency of garbage is connected to the garbage recycle system which can turn the garbage into the reusable material to fulfill the school needs. This research aims to know the potency of the garbage quality, the potency of fly, and students' participation in garbage management in SMAN 2 Purwokerto; to know the potency of the garbage quality, the potency of fly, and students' participation in garbage management in SMAN Banyumas; to analyze the differences of the potency of garbage quality, the potency of fly, the students' participation in garbage management between SMAN 2 Purwokerto and SMAN Banyumas; and propose alternative strategies in enhancing students' participation in the garbage management in both SMAN 2 Purwokerto and SMAN Banyumas. The samples of this research included two piles of garbage in both SMAN 2 Purwokerto and SMAN Banyumas; and the students of SMAN 2 Purwokerto and SMAN Banyumas. The pile of garbage was totally taken once in three days to gather the potential garbage data and the potential fly. For the students, random sampling method was applied for each class and each grade to get the participation data. The garbage potency was measured by using scale; the fly potency was measured by using trap which was made by putting food-prey and nets on the piles of garbage; and students' participation was measured by using questionnaires. The data analysis technique was conducted by using descriptive analysis , t-test and SWOT analysis. The garbage quantity potency in SMAN 2 Purwokerto was 1,713 kg, the fly potency was 190 flies, and the students' participation was 57.1%. The garbage quantity potency in SMAN Banyumas was 1, 371 kg, the fly potency was 109, flies and the students' participation was 54%. Both school have the similar tendency, that is the moderate students' participation, higher garbage potency and higher fly potency. The moderate students' participation should have reduced the garbage potency and the fly potency could have been reduced as well, however, the facts show different things. This happens due to the fact that there is not any sanction for those who throw garbage not in the appropriate place, there is not any post-process from the garbage disposal, there is not any garbage differentiation between organic and inorganic garbage both in garbage disposal and garbage-bin in front of each class, more specifically in SMAN 2 Purwokerto. The strategies to enhance students' participation in garbage management in SMAN 2 Purwokerto were conducted by (1) creating nature-lover extra-curricular activity, (2) practicing the practical garbage process, (3) making a day without littering during a week, and (4) consistently differentiating garbage based on its type. Meanwhile, the alternative strategies which were applied in SMAN Banyumas were conducted by (1) optimizing the nature-lover extra-curricular, (2) providing the organic and inorganic garbage-bin, (3) practicing the practical garbage proses, (4) making a day without littering during a week, and (5) providing garbage-disposal for organic and inorganic garbage.
