Berbagai permasalahan pertanian, baik permasalahan petani, Kelompok Tani (Poktan) maupun Gabungan Kelompok Tani (Gapoktan) telah menuntut adanya campur tangan pemerintah, khususnya dalam pemberian bantuan permodalan. Salahsatu bentuk bantuan pemerintah yang telah dilaksanakan diantaranya adalah program Penguatan Lembaga Distribusi Pangan Masyarakat (Penguatan LDPM) yang sudah mulai digulirkan sejak tahun 2009. 
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik individu anggota Gapoktan penerima bantuan, tingkat efektivitas pelaksanaan program Penguatan LDPM, serta hubungan antara karakteristik individu anggota Gapoktan dengan efektivitas program Penguatan LDPM.  Penelitian juga mengkaji proses pendampingan yang dilakukan dalam pelaksanaan program. Penelitian dilakukan pada Gapoktan KOMPA di Kecamatan Manonjaya, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya dengan metode survai. Responden penelitian berjumlah 70 orang dari petani anggota, serta sepuluh orang pengurus Gapoktan. 
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik individu anggota Gapoktan masuk dalam klasifikasi sedang, sedangkan tingkat efektivitas program Penguatan LDPM secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam klasifikasi tinggi. Hasil analisis dengan uji korelasi Rank Spearman menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan terdapat hubungan antara tingkat efektivitas program penguatan LDPM dengan karakteristik individu anggota Gapoktan.  Keeratan hubungannya termasuk dalam katagori hubungan yang kuat.  Secara parsial, variabel umur dan pendidikan petani responden tidak mempunyai hubungan dengan tingkat efektivitas program penguatan LDPM. Variabel lainnya, yaitu luas dan kepemilikan lahan, pengalaman usahatani dan menjadi anggota Gapoktan, komersialisasi usahatani, serta intensitas mengikuti penyuluhan menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan dengan tingkat efektivitas program penguatan LDPM.  Di samping itu, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa proses pendampingan yang dilaksanakan telah berjalan dengan lancar dan efektif, sehingga berperan sangat besar terhadap tingginya efektivitas pelaksanaan program.

Many of problem in the agricultural  field, whether  the problem of farmer, The Group of Farmer (Poktan) or Group Combination of Farmer (Gapoktan) have demanded the participation of government, especially in giving the assistance  of capital. The form of government assistance that has been conducted it is such as the Program of Strengthening Public Food Distribution Institution (Strengthening LDPM) that has been launched since 2009.  
	This research aims to find out  the  individual characteristic of Gapoktan member  as the  assistance receiver, effectiveness  level  of implementation program   of  Strengthening of LDPM, and the correlation between the individual characteristic of Gapoktan member with the program effectiveness of strengthening KOMPA  in Sub  district of Manonjaya, Regency of Tasikmalaya by method of Survey. Research has respondents 70 people from the member of farmer, and ten people from the Gapoktan official.  
	The result of  research  shows  that the  individual characteristic of Gapoktan’s  member come into the  medium classification, and the  program effectiveness level of strengthening  LDPM entirely  is in the  high  classification.  The  result of  analysis  by  correlation test of Rank Spearman shows  that  simultaneously  has the  correlation between the  program effectiveness level  of strengthening LDPM with the   individual characteristic  of Gapoktan member. The closeness of its correlation come into the strong correlation category. Partially, the variable of age and education of farmer as respondents does not have the correlation with the program effectiveness level  of strengthening LDPM. Other variable, that is wide and the land ownership, the experience of agricultural business and become the Gapoktan member, commercialization of agricultural business, and the intensity of follow the illumination show the significant correlation with the program effectiveness level of strengthening LDPM. Beside that, the result of research also show that the counseling process that has been conducted it has been running fluently and effectively, so it has the big role to the high effectiveness of program implementation.
