Buah lokal sebagai salah satu komoditas dalam negeri memiliki kualitas lebih baik daripada buah impor, namun buah impor yang mampu bersaing di tingkat harga jual lebih rendah dibandingkan harga jual buah lokal. Laju buah impor yang tinggi semakin tidak asing lagi bagi masyarakat, bahkan untuk mendapatkannya sangat mudah, seperti halnya di Purwokerto. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : mengetahui daya saing rambutan lokal terhadap jeruk santang impor di Kota Purwokerto, daya saing jeruk lokal terhadap jeruk santang impor di Kota Purwokerto, besar resiko dari para pedagang buah kios di Kota Purwokerto. Metode penelitian ini adalah survei yang  dilaksanakan di Kota Purwokerto Kabupaten Banyumas. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan pada 22 Februari – 14 Maret 2013. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah sensus. Metode analisis data yang digunakan: tabulasi silang, deskriptif, market share, net profit, elastisitas silang dan analisis resiko. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: dilihat dari indikator keunggulan bersaing seperti harga jual, volume penjualan, market share, margin harga, net profit serta elastisitas silang, rambutan lokal memiliki daya saing yang lebih tinggi daripada jeruk impor, jeruk lokal memiliki daya saing yang lebih tinggi daripada jeruk impor. Jeruk impor (jeruk santang) memiliki resiko usaha yang paling tinggi daripada buah lainnya.

Local fruit as one of the commodities in the country that has a better quality than the imported fruit, but imported fruit that can compete at the level of the selling price is lower than the selling price of a local fruit. Rate of high import citrus fruit increasingly familiar to the public, even to get it very easily, as well as in Purwokerto. In this regard, this research aims to: determine the competitiveness of the local rambutan to oranges imported Santang citrus imports in Purwokerto, the competitiveness of local oranges to oranges imported Santang in Purwokerto, the risk of the fruit vendors stall in Purwokerto. This research method is a survey that conducted in the Purwokerto city, Banyumas. Data collection was carried out on 22 February to 14 March 2013. The sampling method used is the census. Method of data analysis used: cross tabulations, descriptive, market share, net profit, cross elasticity and risk analysis.The results showed that: seen from the indicators of competitive advantage such as sales price, sales volume, market share, price margins, net profit and cross elasticity, competitive local rambutan higher than oranges imported, grapefruit competitive local higher than oranges imported. Orange Import (Citrus fruit Santang) have the greatest business risk compared to other fruits.
