Sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) adalah teknik modulasi yang bisa mengatur frekuensi dan tegangan keluaran pada inverter. Three level H-bridge inverter dan three level Neutral point clamped inverter menggunakan level shifted carrier based sinusoidal PWM. Level shifted carrier based sinusoidal PWM membutuhkan dua inputan gelombang segitiga dan satu buah gelombang sinusoidal. Semakin besar indeks modulasi maka tegangan dan arus keluaran akan semakin besar, namun THD (total harmonic distortion) yang dihasilkan akan menurun sampai pada saat indeks modulasi bernilai 1. Semakin besar frekuensi penyaklaran maka THD arus yang dihasilkan akan semakin kecil. Efisiensi three level H-bridge inverter tertinggi 97,75% dan three level Neutral point clamped inverter tertinggi 97,80 %.

Sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) is a modulation technique which can adjust the frequency and voltage of the inverter output. Three-level H-bridge inverter and Neutral point clamped three-level inverter use level shifted carrier based sinusoidal PWM. Level shifted carrier based sinusoidal PWM need two input triangular wave and one sinusoidal wave. The larger the index modulation output voltage and current will be greater, but the resulting THD (total harmonic distortion) will decrease until the current modulation index is 1. The greater the frequency of switching the current THD generated will be smaller. Efficiency three-level H-bridge inverter highest 97.75% and the three-level Neutral point clamped inverter highest 97.80%.
