Keberhasilan kelompok tani tidak terlepas dari peran penyuluh pertanian dalam melaksanakan pembinaan dan pendampingan. Di Kecamatan Ayah, aktivitas pertemuan rutin kelompok tani telah dilaksanakan oleh 31 kelompok tani dari total 75 kelompok tani yang tersebar di 12 dari 18 desa. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan adanya variasi aktivitas kelembagaan kelompok tani, sehingga diperlukan kajian lebih lanjut mengenai peran penyuluh pertanian dalam mendukung kinerja kelompok tani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat peran penyuluh pertanian, tingkat kinerja kelompok tani, serta hubungan peran penyuluh terhadap kinerja kelompok tani di Kecamatan Ayah, Kabupaten Kebumen.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Ayah, Kabupaten Kebumen pada bulan Maret sampai Juli 2026. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner yang diberikan kepada penyuluh serta pihak terkait. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan cluster sampling berdasarkan topografi wilayah yang meliputi kawasan pesisir, perbukitan, dan dataran rendah dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 57 responden yang tersebar di 19 kelompok tani. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif, skoring skala Likert, dan analisis korelasi untuk mengetahui hubungan antara peran penyuluh pertanian dan kinerja kelompok tani.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran penyuluh pertanian di Kecamatan Ayah Kabupaten Kebumen yang meliputi peran sebagai fasilitator, motivator, edukator, dan dinamisator secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, dengan peran sebagai dinamisator memperoleh penilaian tertinggi. Kinerja kelompok tani berada pada kategori tinggi sehingga menunjukkan bahwa kelompok tani telah mampu menjalankan fungsi kelembagaannya dalam mendukung kegiatan usahatani. Hasil analisis korelasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara peran penyuluh pertanian dengan kinerja kelompok tani, yang berarti semakin baik peran penyuluh, maka semakin baik pula kinerja kelompok tani. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan evaluasi bagi Balai Penyuluh Pertanian dalam menyusun strategi pembinaan kelompok tani, meningkatkan efektivitas pendampingan penyuluh, serta memperkuat program pengembangan kelembagaan petani.

The success of farmer groups is inseparable from the role of agricultural extension workers in carrying out coaching and mentoring. In Ayah District, routine meetings of farmer groups have been carried out by 31 farmer groups out of a total of 75 farmer groups spread across 12 out of 18 villages. This condition shows that there is a variation in the institutional activities of farmer groups, so further studies are needed on the role of agricultural extension workers in supporting the performance of farmer groups. This study aims to analyze the level of the role of agricultural extension workers, the level of performance of farmer groups, and the relationship between the role of extension workers and the performance of farmer groups in Ayah District, Kebumen Regency.
This research was carried out in Ayah District, Kebumen Regency from March to July 2026. The research uses a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach. Research data was obtained through observations, interviews, and questionnaires given to extension workers and related parties. The data collection technique used cluster sampling based on regional topography covering coastal areas, hills, and lowlands with a total sample of 57 respondents spread across 19 farmer groups. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Likert scale scoring, and correlation analysis to determine the relationship between the role of agricultural extension workers and the performance of farmer groups.
The results of the study show that the role of agricultural extension workers in Ayah District, Kebumen Regency, which includes the role of facilitator, motivator, educator, and dynamizer as a whole, is included in the high category, with the role of dynamizer obtaining the highest score. The performance of farmer groups is in the high category, which shows that farmer groups have been able to carry out their institutional functions in supporting farming activities. The results of the correlation analysis showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the role of agricultural extension workers and the performance of farmer groups, which means that the better the role of extension workers, the better the performance of farmer groups. The results of this research are expected to be evaluation material for the Agricultural Extension Center in developing strategies for fostering farmer groups, increasing the effectiveness of extension assistance, and strengthening farmer institutional development programs.
