Stratifikasi Akumulasi Hg dan Cd dari Jenis Mangrove Rhizophora mucronata dan Aegiceras corniculatum di Segara Anakan, Cilacap

Segara Anakan merupakan laguna terluas di Pulau Jawa yang menerima limbah logam berat dari aktivitas antropogenik, termasuk industri. Logam berat, khususnya merkuri (Hg) dan kadmium (Cd), berpotensi terakumulasi pada air, sedimen, dan jaringan mangrove Rhizophora mucronata dan Aegiceras corniculatum. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis konsentrasi merkuri (Hg) dan kadmium (Cd) pada air dan sedimen, mengetahui stratifikasi akumulasi pada akar, batang, dan daun mangrove Rhizophora mucronata dan Aegiceras corniculatum serta mengevaluasi kemampuan mangrove menyerap melalui bioaccumulation factor (BAF) dan translocation factor (TF). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Oktober–Desember 2025 di Segara Anakan. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan purposive sampling berdasarkan sumber bahan pencemar dan keberadaan kedua jenis mangrove. Analisis Hg dan Cd menggunakan Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Hasil menunjukkan konsentrasi Hg pada air berkisar 0,0012–0,0048 mg/L dan Cd 0,0250–0,0471 mg/L, melebihi baku mutu. Konsentrasi Hg pada sedimen berkisar 0,0717–0,1831 mg/kg dan Cd 0,5308– 0,7048 mg/kg, tergolong pencemaran ringan. Pola stratifikasi akumulasi menunjukkan akar > batang > daun, dengan akumulasi tertinggi pada Aegiceras corniculatum. Nilai BAF < 1 terhadap Hg menunjukkan ekskluder, sedangkan BAF > 1 terhadap Cd pada stasiun 1 menunjukkan akumulator. Nilai TF < 1 menunjukkan translokasi terbatas sehingga logam terakumulasi pada akar. Kedua mangrove berpotensi sebagai agen fitostabilisator lingkungan.

Segara Anakan is the largest lagoon on the island of Java that receives heavy metal pollutants from anthropogenic activities, including industrial sources. Heavy metals, particularly mercury (Hg) and cadmium (Cd), have the potential to accumulate in water, sediments, and the tissues of the mangrove species Rhizophora mucronata and Aegiceras corniculatum. This study aims to analyze the concentrations of mercury (Hg) and cadmium (Cd) in water and sediments, determine the accumulation patterns in the roots, stems, and leaves of the mangrove species Rhizophora mucronata and Aegiceras corniculatum, and evaluate the mangroves’ ability to absorb these metals using the bioaccumulation factor (BAF) and translocation factor (TF). The study was conducted from October to December 2025 in Segara Anakan. The research method employed quantitative descriptive analysis. Sampling was performed using purposive sampling based on the sources of pollutants and the presence of the two mangrove species. Hg and Cd analyses were conducted using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results showed that Hg concentrations in the water ranged from 0.0012 to 0.0048 mg/L and Cd concentrations from 0.0250 to 0.0471 mg/L, exceeding the quality standards. Hg concentrations in sediments ranged from 0.0717 to 0.1831 mg/kg and Cd from 0.5308 to 0.7048 mg/kg, classified as mild contamination. The accumulation stratification pattern showed roots > stems > leaves, with the highest accumulation in Aegiceras corniculatum. A BAF value < 1 for Hg indicates an excluder, while a BAF value > 1 for Cd at Station 1 indicates an accumulator. A TF value < 1 indicates limited translocation, resulting in metal accumulation in the roots. Both mangrove species have the potential to act as environmental phytostabilizers.
