Penelitian ini berjudul “Aspek Reproduksi Ikan Palung (Hampala macrolepidota) di Hilir Sungai Serayu Kecamatan Kebasen, Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah”. Ikan palung merupakan ikan spesies asli perairan Indonesia dari famili Cyprinidae yang banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui rasio kelamin, indeks gonado somatik, indeks hepato somatik, dan indeks viscera somatik ikan palung di hilir Sungai Serayu Kecamatan Kebasen, Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah. Metode survey diterapkan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, dan data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan November-Desember 2025 di hilir Sungai Serayu stasiun Gambarsari dan Kebasen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rasio kelamin ikan palung adalah 1:1,2. IGS ikan jantan berkisar 7,84–10,23% dan ikan betina 9,75–9,91%, IHS ikan jantan berkisar 0,83–1,19% dan ikan betina 1,67–1,76%, sementara IVS ikan jantan berkisar antara 3,75–3,89% dan ikan betina 3,60 – 3,93%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu ikan palung di hilir Sungai Serayu, Kecamatan Kebasen berada pada tahap mulai matang gonad.

This study is entitled “Reproductive Aspects of Palung Fish (Hampala macrolepidota) in the downstream Serayu River Kebasen District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java”. The palung fish is a native freshwater species of Indonesia belonging to the Cyprinid and is widely consumed by local communities. This study aims to determine the sex ratio, gonado somatic index, hepato somatic index, and viscera somatic index of palung fish in the downstream of Serayu River Kebasen District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java. A survey method was applied using a purposive sampling technique, and the data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. Sampling was conducted during November–Desember 2025 at the Gambarsari and Kebasen stations in the downstream of Serayu River. The result showed that the sex ratio of palung fish was 1:1,2. The male GSI ranged from 7,84–10,23% and female fish 9,75–9,91%, the HSI of male fish ranged from 0,83–1,19% and female fish 1,67–1,76%. While, the VSI of male fish ranged from 3,75–3,89% and female fish 3,60–3,93%. This study concluded that palung fish in the downstream Serayu River, Kebasen District were in early gonadal maturation stage.
