Terumbu karang merupakan salah satu ekosistem laut yang paling kompleks dan produktif serta menyediakan habitat bagi berbagai organisme, termasuk ikan karang sebagai kelompok fauna yang dominan dan berasosiasi erat dengan ekosistem tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi tutupan terumbu karang, struktur komunitas ikan karang, serta hubungan antara tutupan karang hidup dengan kelimpahan ikan karang. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei dengan pengambilan data ikan karang menggunakan metode Underwater Visual Census (UVC) dan data tutupan karang menggunakan Underwater Photo Transect (UPT). Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan untuk mengetahui hubungan tutupan karang hidup dengan kelimpahan ikan karang menggunakan analisis uji Korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi tutupan terumbu karang berada pada kategori sedang (41,93%) hingga baik (48,83%). Hasil analisis korelasi Pearson menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dengan tingkat korelasi lemah (r = 0,340) antara tutupan terumbu karang dan kelimpahan ikan karang. Semakin tinggi tutupan karang hidup, maka cenderung diikuti peningkatan kelimpahan ikan karang.

Coral reefs are among the most complex and productive marine ecosystems, providing habitat for a wide variety of organisms, including reef fish a dominant group of fauna closely associated with this ecosystem. This study aims to determine the condition of coral reef cover, the structure of the reef fish community, and the relationship between live coral cover and reef fish abundance. The study employed a survey method, with data on reef fish collected using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method and data on coral cover collected using the Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) method. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to determine the relationship between live coral cover and the abundance of reef fish, as well as the relationship between live coral cover and the abundance of reef fish. The study employed a survey method, with data on reef fish collected using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method and data on coral cover collected using the Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) method. Data analysis was conducted descriptively, and to determine the relationship between live coral cover and reef fish abundance, a Pearson correlation test was used. The results showed that coral reef cover conditions ranged from moderate (41.93%) to good (48.83%). The Pearson correlation analysis revealed a positive relationship with a weak correlation coefficient (r = 0.340) between coral reef cover and reef fish abundance. The higher the live coral cover, the greater the tendency for an increase in reef fish abundance.
