Hubungan Faktor Kepribadian Big Five dengan Resiliensi Akademik Mahasiswa di Jurusan Keperawatan Universitas Jenderal Soedirman

Latar Belakang: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan faktor kepribadian Big Five dengan resiliensi akademik pada mahasiswa Jurusan Keperawatan Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Metodologi: Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian mencakup 109 mahasiswa keperawatan tingkat akhir dan mahasiswa profesi ners yang dipilih melalui teknik proportionate stratified random sampling dari total populasi 189 mahasiswa. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari IPIP-BFM-25 untuk mengukur kepribadian Big Five dan ARS-30 untuk mengukur resiliensi akademik. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Somers’ d untuk melihat hubungan antara variabel. Hasil Penelitian: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki kategori kepribadian Big Five sedang (73,4%) dan resiliensi akademik sedang (66,97%). Terdapat hubungan positif signifikan antara kepribadian Big Five dan resiliensi akademik dengan nilai Somers’ d simetris 0,512 (p=0,000), yang berada pada kategori kuat. Dimensi kepribadian yang lebih adaptif seperti Conscientiousness, Agreeableness, dan Extraversion berkorelasi dengan resiliensi akademik yang lebih tinggi, sedangkan Neuroticism menunjukkan kecenderungan berlawanan. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan signifikan dan positif antara faktor kepribadian Big Five dan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa keperawatan. Karakteristik kepribadian berperan sebagai faktor internal yang memengaruhi kemampuan adaptasi terhadap tekanan akademik dan profesional, sehingga dapat dipertimbangkan dalam strategi dukungan akademik maupun intervensi pendidikan keperawatan.

Background: This study aimed to examine the relationship between Big Five personality factors and academic resilience among students of the Nursing Department at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Methods: A quantitative correlational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted. The sample consisted of 109 final-year undergraduate nursing students and professional nursing (Ners) students, selected using proportionate stratified random sampling from a total population of 189 students. The instruments used were the IPIP-BFM-25 to measure Big Five personality traits and the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) to assess academic resilience. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses, with Somers’ d test applied to determine the relationship between variables. Results: The findings indicated that the majority of respondents exhibited moderate levels of Big Five personality traits (73.4%) and moderate academic resilience (66.97%). A significant positive relationship was found between Big Five personality factors and academic resilience, with a symmetric Somers’ d value of 0.512 (p = 0.000), indicating a strong association. More adaptive personality dimensions, such as Conscientiousness, Agreeableness, and Extraversion, were associated with higher academic resilience, whereas Neuroticism showed an opposite tendency. Conclusion: There is a significant and positive relationship between Big Five personality factors and academic resilience among nursing students. Personality characteristics function as internal factors influencing students’ ability to adapt to academic and professional stressors and should be considered in academic support strategies and nursing education interventions.
