Latar Belakang: Peta konsep merupakan strategi belajar visual yang telah banyak digunakan dalam
bidang pendidikan kedokteran karena kemampuannya dalam mendorong pola pikir yang terstruktur serta
meningkatkan penalaran klinis. Meskipun demikian, penyusunan peta konsep tampaknya tidak konsisten
dan makin dilupakan oleh mahasiswa. Berdasarkan kerangka presage-process-product (3P), nilai peta
konsep (faktor product) dipengaruhi secara langsung oleh strategi belajar penyusunan peta konsep
(faktor process), serta dipengaruhi secara tidak langsung oleh gaya belajar VARK (faktor presage).
Kecenderungan semakin jarangnya strategi belajar ini digunakan diduga berkaitan dengan
ketidaksesuaian antara gaya belajar mahasiswa dengan strategi belajar tersebut, yang pada akhirnya
dapat menurunkan hasil belajar. Tujuan: Mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan bermakna pada nilai
peta konsep mahasiswa Jurusan Kedokteran Umum FK Unsoed semester 2 TA 2024/2025 berdasarkan
berbagai jenis gaya belajar model VARK. Metode: Rancangan cross sectional dilakukan pada 80
mahasiswa Jurusan Kedokteran Umum FK Unsoed semester 2 TA 2024/2025 yang dipilih melalui total
sampling. Menggunakan data sekunder berupa data gaya belajar yang diambil menggunakan kuesioner
VARK berbahasa Indonesia versi 8.01 dan data nilai peta konsep dari Ketua Tim Peneliti Payung (Hibah
BLU LPPM Unsoed Skim Riset Dasar Unsoed Tahun Anggaran 2025). Uji hipotesis menggunakan
Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil: Gaya belajar dengan proporsi tertinggi adalah quadmodal VARK (35%). Rerata
nilai peta konsep adalah 277,50, dengan rerata tertinggi terdapat pada gaya belajar VARK (321,32),
sedangkan rerata terendah terdapat pada gaya belajar RK (224,67). Penelitian ini tidak signifikan (p =
0,791). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna nilai peta konsep antar berbagai jenis gaya
belajar model VARK pada mahasiswa semester 2 TA 2024/2025 Jurusan Kedokteran Umum FK Unsoed

Background: Concept mapping is a visual learning strategy that has been widely used in medical
education due to its ability to promote structured thinking and enhance clinical reasoning. However, the
consistent use of concept mapping among students appears to be declining. Based on the presage–
process–product (3P) framework, concept-map scores (product factor) are directly influenced by the
concept-mapping learning strategy (process factor) and indirectly influenced by VARK learning styles
(presage factor). The decreasing use of this strategy is suspected to be associated with a mismatch
between students’ learning styles and the strategy itself, which may ultimately reduce learning outcomes.
Objective: To determine whether there are significant differences in concept-map scores among firstyear medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Jenderal Soedirman University, based on different
VARK learning styles. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 80 first-year medical
students selected through total sampling. Secondary data were used, consisting of learning-style
information measured using the Indonesian version of the VARK Questionnaire (version 8.01) and
concept-map scores obtained from the Principal Investigator of the parent research project (BLU LPPM
Unsoed Basic Research Grant, Fiscal Year 2025). The Kruskal–Wallis test was used for hypothesis
testing. Results: The most prevalent learning style was quadmodal VARK (35%). The mean conceptmap score was 277.50, with the highest mean score found in the VARK group (321.32), and the lowest
in the RK group (224.67). The study showed no statistically significant difference (p = 0.791).
Conclusion: There was no significant difference in concept-map scores across the various VARK
learning styles among first-year medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Jenderal Soedirman
University.
