PENGARUH JENIS MULSA ORGANIK TERHADAP PEMADATAN TANAH PADA KEDALAMAN 0 – 50 CM (12 BULAN SETELAH PERLINTASAN TRAKTOR RODA DUA)

Penggunaan traktor roda dua pada lahan juga dapat menimbulkan pemadatan tanah yang terdampak negatif terhadap sifat fisik tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh jenis mulsa organik terhadap pemadatan tanah pada kedalaman 0 – 50 cm saat 12 bulan setelah perlintasan traktor roda dua, serta menganalisis hubungan antar sifat fisik tanah. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan dengan 4 taraf perlakuan, yaitu: tanpa mulsa organik (M0), mulsa jerami padi (Mj), mulsa sekam padi (Ms), dan mulsa serasah daun bambu (Md) dan 5 kedalaman tanah (0 – 10, 10 – 20, 20 – 30, 30 – 40, dan 40 – 50 cm). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemberian mulsa organik, terutama mulsa jerami padi, menurunkan dry bulk density dan meningkatkan porositas, kadar air, serta konduktivitas hidrolik jenuh. Semakin dalam tanah, pemadatan semakin berkurang. Analisis statistik menunjukkan hubungan linier antar variabel fisik tanah. Hasil 12 bulan dry bulk density lebih tinggi, sementara porositas, kadar air dan konduktivitas hidrolik jenuh lebih rendah dibandingkan 6 dan 0 bulan pengamatan.

The use of two-wheel tractors on agricultural land can also cause soil compaction, which negatively affects soil physical properties. This study aimed to investigate the effect of different types of organic mulch on soil compaction at a depth of 0 –50 cm, twelve months after two-wheel tractor traffic, as well as to analyze the relationships among soil physical properties. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design with four treatment levels: no organic mulch (M0), rice straw mulch (Mj), rice husk mulch (Ms), and bamboo leaf litter mulch (Md), and five soil depths (0 –10, 10 –20, 20 –30, 30 –40, and 40 –50 cm). The results showed that the application of organic mulch, especially rice straw mulch, decreased dry bulk density and increased porosity, moisture content, and saturated hydraulic conductivity. Soil compaction decreased with increasing soil depth. Statistical analysis revealed linear relationships among soil physical variables. After twelve months of observation, dry bulk density was higher, whereas porosity, moisture content, and saturated hydraulic conductivity were lower compared to the six- and zero-month observations.
